This is an excellent Chianti! Rich, deep, full of flavour with a nice firm tannic bite still very present but in balance with the fruit so it's drinking smoothly. Great with steak and other rich food. Still very fresh, probably has at least five years left, but is gorgeous now.

Nice Chianti a bit closed after opening but an hour away it opend nicely - tannis's and fruit catch up each other Will definetly improve by cellaring 2-4 years.

First day it tasted cheap, but the second I was very happy about it. Big, bold, dark cherry, texture, nice finish, that tuscany chocolate/cigar flavor. I suspect it it too early to drink.

Now at or near its peak, this is a lovely and especially food-friendly Chianti, elegant and restrained, perhaps too restrained, yet also juicy and widely appealing. There are complex herb, earth, leather, licorice, and spice notes, but the star is the attractive combination of cherry, raspberry, strawberry, and currant, a sweet-sour mix that works really well while reinforced by the darker, richer components. Picked this up last month on holiday from Castello Albola, in Tuscany. the 2008 is definately ready for drinking.. Would've benefited from decanting no doubt. Classy wine, medium bodied, a text book chianti classico..everyone who drank it made positive remarks..great with roast lamb. decent p/q.
