Decanted The LeNez Pinot Noir is composed of each of the 5 clones planted at Lenné: 777, 115, 114, 667 and Pommard. Fruit forward aromas crushed raspberry, cherry and pomegranate are met with the delicate notes of rose, sea salt, earth and red tea. Lush ripe red fruits on the palate. Plenty of raspberry, strawberry, pomegranate and cherry on the palate laced with the lighter touches of floral and mineral notes. The acidity is moderate-plus and the tannins are moderate …

Don't overthink this Pinot. Just enjoy. Yum! The entire Lenne lineup is so satisfying year in an year out. I hope there is some of this still available. Great QPR.

This one could use a little more time in the cellar -- either that, or it would make a great food wine.

Pre-Birthday drive in the Willamette Valley : Very darkly complected, but soft aromas. Creamy palate entry, which is soft and coating on the lush, but mellow in flavor palate. High acid on the tart finish. Rich fruit.

Aromas of red apple, berries and an interesting oatmeal note. Rich and smooth on the palate with plenty of dark berry and currant fruit. There is a slightly oaky edge with touch of meat to add interest.

Good pinot, but flabby. Soft fruit. Not much tannin. Maybe past its prime?

Overly assertive with an alcohol-dominant palate and short finish.

Yesterday, this was a very good Oregon Pinot Noir, complex and mellow with eight years of age. A half-bottle remaining was vacuvined and kept overnight at about 55F. This evening, a huge Coke-A-Cola note emerged to dominate,

So candy like that the earthy notes are lost in waves of super ripe cherries and strawberries. Later in the evening it fell apart succumbing to sugar and the brutal heat of the alcohol. Not my style at all.

Spicy/funky nose. Nice bit of cherry on the palate, with some cedar to balance. Kind of a spike of the funky flavor as you swallow, which was interesting and not unpleasant. Mushrooms on the finish. Drinking well right now.

Big pinot, which I have to admit are the ones I personally love. Tons of fruit, very smooth and big. Light tannins, with lots of cherry and plum on the palate. Enjoy!

Novoino's 4th annual portfolio tasting (Park Hyatt Hotel, Chicago IL) : nose: lighter nose with very good tones of dark red fruits, bits of herbs, red cherries and some berry tones. Nice depth with a very attractive style taste: very pretty medium body with medium+ acidity and demure tones of dark red fruits, herbs, red cherries, berries and a touch of red florals. Well balanced with the acidity being more on the crisp side overall: this is a pretty young …

Lucien Le Moine at Scott Paul, and other WV because we're there (Carlton, OR) : Some oak, and nice fruit on the palate... very nice, big fruit on the palate, but it's generic... this kind of fruit continues on the finish. An okay wine, but nothing sets it out from the masses.

An Offer of Awesome Burgundy Inspires A Day of Tasting In the Willamette Valley (Willamette Valley) : Light cherries show up on the nose. Simple cherry flavors appear on the palate along with some nice acid. The wine is clean across the palate. 87+

A day tasting in the Willamette Valley with the usual suspects (Oregon) : Very soft nose on this one, raspberries, something oceanic. The palate has nice red fruit early turning slightly sour leading into the finish with some sharp acids. Really soft tannins. This has a great mid-palate, but is lacking balance everywhere else. A nice wine but pretty standard feeling.

First tasted at the winery in Nov 09, and it was a mineral cocktail with a tiny bit of fruit. The vinyard is hard scrabble poor soil at the very end of the Chehelem ridge with a south slope exposure. So the vines work very hard. I liked it even better when I tasted in 1/16/10 also at the winery. It had become less dominated by the minerals with the fruit just beginnning to show through in the length. The …

Thanksgiving Wine Tasting (Carlton, OR) : Seemed quite young and disjointed. Not very integrated yet...I liked the 2006 much better! Fruit was muted, earth was prominent. Tannins light, but present. Give this one another 6 months to a year in the bottle for it to shine.

Splash decanted. Color is dark garnet with a clear rim. Nose of cherries, leather and earth. Flavors of sweet cherries, raspberries, and pepper. Very silky in the mouth, and nice to drink. Much more integrated and enjoyable than my first bottle. Had since tasted this at the winery (beautiful location, if you haven't been there, it is a must-see!), and enjoyed it very much. This is the best so far.

Decanted 1 hour. Winemaker Steve Lutz said this would not be as evolved in the nose until spring 2008. I have to agree. There is a bit of fruit on the nose, along with a bit of earth and pepper, but the aroma is thin. The palate is where this wine REALLY shines. Great cherry and blackberry fruit, with some cola, pepper and earth. Amazingly big for a Pinot. Lots of body, thick tasting and absolutely delicious. Outstanding - 91 …

This wine gives me great hope for the 2006 Oregon vintage. For the money (and I realize that is an every increasing metric), this wine performs. Great black cherries, cola, and spice on the nose. No trace of funk, but a nice earthy backbone. Very silky on the palate with the continued black cherries and some red fruits. Very pleasing wine to drink solo or with food.

OUTSTANDING This bottle is a so much better on the palate than the last bottle. Everything else is there but the Palate has come around. I have one more bottle so in six months the age may really let this Pinot show me something. The cherry is still there but there's mineral aspect that is making my interest take notice on these wines. The finish is long and mouth watering. The overall fell is velvety and deep! I'm much more …

GOOD Almost VERY GOOD The description on the back label is that this is the "infant wine of Lenne Estate" but there is certainly nothing small about this Oregon Pinot Noir. This comes from a plot of only 20 acres sporting Clones Pommard, 115, 114, 777, and 667. 14.1% EtOH The label is a favorite of mine and a digital picture gives no justice. The paper is thick and texture coarse with the black "Lenez" lettering raised highlighted by shadowy …
