This is the definition of texas sherry to me. Dr. Mitchell has been making sherry in texas since the 70s and in some ways is the father of texas sherry. I love the pecan pie character of this sherry. Bottle opened for the first time tonight. Still keeping in inventory. This sherry/madeira poured with a color reminiscent of a verdelho madeira. Dark golden yellow. The nose was caramel and vanilla. Not much of a nutty characteristic, but there seemed to be a light almond perhaps. The taste was smooth, a little acid on the tongue if it was held for longer than 10-15 seconds.
