Took about an hour to fully open up. A lighter pinot that tastes of cherry and blackberry with a light smokiness. Still drinking fine but I don’t think additional age will improve it any. Went very well with herbed goat cheese and crackers.

Classic Carneros nose black cherry, currant, raspberry coulis, juicy, with a touch of heat, some warm spices of cinnamon and clove. Juicy and then spicy on the palate, longer finish for a Pinot of this price from California.

Auriol Wines tasting "The Judgement of Hartley Wintney", Hampshire UK, comparing Californian and French wines. 23% new French oak. Light cherry colour. This has a lovely cherry nose, floral, rosemary, with some smokiness. The palate shows ripe fruit, cherries, quite chewy. It's young at the moment, but I'm not sure that it will change with time, so it's fine if you like this somewhat lighter style of pinot.

Pomegranate on the nose, light color. Only 6 months in oak so wasn’t expecting a lot of layers of flavors. However, the wine was incredibly aromatic which was nice.

Good structure and balance with some savoury notes. Light and refreshing for drinking now, but for my taste needs more time to develop more interesting characters - a little young really.
