Bitter almonds, sour cherries, dusty. Liquor’ish. Nice Medium+ intensity. Medium for a US Pinot, ++ for a European Pinot :-) Notably steg, but in all the right ways. Edit. After few hours, it opens even more beautifully. Definitely not over the top yet!

Surprised to see a drinking window ending in 2022 for this wine. Even after 2 hours in the decanter and a couple more in the glass, this still has years ahead of it. Beautifully smooth, rich and rounded. Lots of fruit and great length.

Deep dark red big body (14.5%) wine, Floral nose followed by black cherry and raspberry fruit with a hint of plum. Great finish to this super wine.

Needed 30-60 min to really open up. Big dark cherry fruit comes through, nice balance, medium long fishing.

A light Pinot Noir from Anderson Valley. Cherry and bright red fruit flavors up from but not the long lingering finish we have experienced with other Anderson Valley Pinots (Handley and Walt). As a 2013, it might have just started to turn the corner.

Goldeneye Pinots can be an acquired taste but they never disappoint and the older vintages have held up well. Time to drink this now or over the next 12 months as the quality may begin to fade. Lots of fruit with a smooth finish. Enjoy!

2nd tasting of this wine, this time in the role as a meditation wine, slightly chilled. In the nose and on palate dark cherries, blackberries, liquorice, tobacco cinnamon and oak. Above all fruit driven. Ok acidity. Alcohol slightly too dominating which seems exacerbated by intense but otherwise soft tannins (considering I'm drinking PN) Med+ length finish that does not reveal further layers. Overall nice integration and can be enjoyed on it's own after dinner when slightly chilled.

The one thought that keeps coming out is “one dimensional”. Tasty enough and pleasant. Ripe, but kind of uninteresting red cherry. Maybe low acidity which is adding to a flatness. Just not my deal but not flawed.

Good quality but not my favorite style. Sweeter red fruits but I prefer dark cherry and blackberry.

Another delicious Goldeneye Pinot. Tart cherries, blackberries, that characteristic.strong note of gravel/wet stones that the 2013s seem to carry, peppery, cloves. Lush.

A nice solid Pinot. It was a gift so not sure how much the mental game played on the enjoyment.

Medium ruby. Big coffee, earthy aromas with a lingering sweet tart, pixie stix aroma (that im not sure I like). Lush mouthfeel, ripe, sweet with powdered candy taste on finish. Overall seemed a little out of balance, with out the necessary focus and energy to hold together this big style.

New Year's Eve dinner tasting. Brief note. This was a hot mess. Nose and palate were vanilla cherry coke concentrate. Over-oaked and over-ripe with a syrupy texture and no acid to be found.

dark black cherry color. Nose dusky, slight vanillin. Palate vanilla and black cherry, sweet, simple to my taste. tannic finish. Maybe just too young? Might benefit from some more air and a slight chill. 89 pts

Really enjoyed this last night. Paired against 5 other pinots (Oregon and California) and to me this was the best by far. Balanced and red fruit and spice on the nose. Amazing oak, fruit and alcohol balance; everything in harmony. Dark red cherries and vanilla tastes highlight.

Received as a gift. We did not enjoy. Hard to put a finger on it. Out of balance perhaps. Our Pinot palate is Williams Selyem, Copain, Melville and Ampelos - a broad spectrum. Couldn't find much joy with this.

Drank from a magnum. Well-aged, but fruit was still fresh thanks to the large format bottle. Not as over-extracted as some other Goldeneye's I've had. Not a lot of secondary flavors, but a pure focus of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir.
