Smells faintly "winey." On the palate it's textbook dolcetto: dark blackberry fruit, anise, marzipan, very dry with puckery tannins. 13.5% abv, nothing overdone, nothing flashy. Dogliani is considered the pinnacle of dolcetto since the prime sites are devoted to it instead of nebbiolo. I don't know if I detect a specific imprint of the terroir, but this is exactly what you expect of this variety.

Best if opened at least an hour before drinking to allow wine to develop and soften. Not very aromatic but nice nose of cherry some funk but not too much. Just a very pleasant wine.
