In a very good place right now. The nose, while quite pretty, is more subtle than overt; the medium-bodied palate oozes Russian River and captures the essence of the vintage quite fully. Paired well with shitake risotto, but worked just as well on its own, too. Bravo Brooks and Gary. 14,0% abv, drink thru 2018

We decanted and let sit about 30 minutes, a big nose of crushed red fruit, but the palate was more blueberry and licorice with a medium finish which was predominately blueberry, a well made wine, thoroughly enjoyable

A little tar and big. But solid, pleasant presence.

A very hot nose. This has flavors of strawberry, cherry, cocoa, and a hint of licorice. Paired very well with my famous fried organic okra.

Color is surprisingly aged, red with a hint of brown. Perfumed nose of red berry fruits and a nicely textured body of berry and cherry fruit and substantial green notes in the mid-palette. Paired well with turkey croquettes at the hob nob grill.

Slow-O served at cellar temp over 2 hours. Impressive showing, and beyond what I was expecting which was above-average to begin with. Pretty, and somewhat intense aromas of freshly smashed cherries, sage, minerals and red floral lead to a medium-bodied wine with notable character, energy and focus. May have been the group WOTN, surprising everyone including yours truly. As good on its own as it was with food, this kind of wine slows things down, let's you consider things beyond …

initial tastes of licorice and strawberry that came on disjointed and thick. Nose of juicy cherries. Used Audouze method for about 4-5 hrs and completely transformed the wine into more of a traditional rendition of the grape. Acidity on the palate was good. Taste of light strawberries along with hints of cranberries and mint. I would sit on these for a couple more months. 89+ Drink 2012-2018 or with long decant.

This bottle was ready. Interesting nose of cherry and cellar. The taste was predominantly cherry also with a hint of cola and licorice. Smooth, well integrated tannins.

Fruit is there, but this wine is young. Wait at least another year.

Might have still been a little young. Very tannic for a Pinot, chocolate and baking spices but not much fruit. Still very good but a little underwhelming for the price.

Great with smoked turkey and latkes. Decanter for 2hrs. Only 357 cases made, wow small production.

Similar to the Coho Pinots I've had in the past (Stanly Ranch, Carneros fruit from some of the oldest blocks of this storied vineyard), this is enjoyable and well crafted. But what sets it apart are the many layers of fruit and overall complexity this bottling offers up. Rich and bright, this needs to rest some more before it can be fully realized. Typical RRV fruit profile, but dashing acidity and very fine grained tannins round out the package in …

This wine is BIG. It's also way too early to judge. Based on where it's at right now, it would be a 90, but I have a feeling that this wine will improve significantly. When I opened this wine, I could not even drink it until the next day, it was so tight. Give this one some time.
