Dinner w/ Friends & Impromptu Blind Tasting (Eagle Brook CC) : Our penultimate bottle. Deep ruby color with a lovely bouquet of cherry preserves and nutmeg with hints of cola weaving through. Medium-bodied and still quite fresh with its cherry & wild strawberry fruit. Cinnamon accents the finish. Drank wonderfully over the course of the four hour evening with friends.

Popped and poured. Cherry and cinnamon notes dominate. Medium-bodied with a satin texture and flavors of Asian spice, cherry and clove. Balanced. Delightful, and drinking beautifully right now. This was a steal at $250/case back in the day.

We decided we needed another half bottle or so. Black cherry, nutmeg and something a bit resiny/sappy. Mixed red and dark pinot fruit with baking and Asian spice elements. Finishes with good length. Excellent, and would certainly stand up to heartier fare.

Filling in w/the Friday Brown Bag Group (Ron's) : Blind. Notes of cherry, earth and clove. Elegant. Flavors of cherry, spice, and dark pinot fruit, a bit bigger than the others in the lineup. Opens nicely; warm spices and cherry fruit qualities. Nice finish. By the end of the flight it became clear to me that this was my RRV pinot. 89+ pts.
