Even though this isn't quite my favorite style of Pinot Noir, it really grew on me over the course of 24 hrs. Night one was enjoyable, but for $35 it felt austere, dark, dense, herbal and earthy (not in a "heavy" way, but not very exciting or easy to love.) A heavier style of Pinot for sure, but not the kind of ripe, fat cherry like in a Russian River example- this was like faint black plum with lots of …

A friend brought this back from a mini-vacation in Portland. He had such a good time at the winery, he couldn't wait to have us over for dinner to share his discovery. And now I understand why he was so excited. Wonderful depth of fruit in this, it's just all balanced, and put together, and just plain tasty. Even better - he sent me home with a bottle. Drinking fine now, but I'll give it 6-12 months and see how …

Black tart fruit is balanced with a red sweeter fruit and a solid earth to bring it all into balance. This is how I like my Pinot acids, really well balanced but still holding it's own with food.

Blind Pinot Noir : Bright ruby color. Juicy black cherries mix with red currant, topped with lots of violets, soil, hints of leather and cocoa. Medium/full-bodied with structured but accessible tannin and moderate but refreshing acidity. Very cool mix of black and sour red cherries, along with notes of roses, violets, chestnut and savory spice. Some cedar and cocoa powder, but it’s balanced nicely. A dusty mineral and soil element comes out with time. Delicious now but built for a …

Garnet and heavy in the glass. Hot nose of candied cherry, currant, fig and slate. Full body and cocktail-like on the palate…basically tequila made with pinot noir. Stewed cherry, smoke, earth and spice. Long finish.

Purchased the "Lenne Estate" at Brentwood wine auction 11-12 and drank early January 2013. Bottle showed that it had been properly cellared. Beautiful nose of red fruits, primarily cherry which continued into the taste. Tannin was very slightly showing. Thankfully has a touch of acid to give it balance. What raised this to the A- quality level was the earthiness that took on an almost mushroom character (in a good way) as well as the kind of concentration that makes …

Tasted at estate. Hottest vintage in a while, but the warm temp (now) makes it a bit too aromatic. Nice spice notes, very black cherry flavor.

A worthy unabashed example of the ripe 2009 Willamette vintage, to which Lenne does not try to hide or manipulate the ripeness of the vintage. I look to Oregon for Pinot Noir of higher acidity, lower fruit & alcohol, so 2009 isn't one of my favorite, but its been very popular with consumers, and certainly should not be overlooked. Lenne has done an excellent job allowing the vintage to express itself. There is nothing wrong with this Pinot Noir, in …

With a one and a half hour decant. Showing like a Beaujolais in the glass. Same for the nose with wet flowers, red licorice, cherry and muddy earth. Medium body with high quality, present and polished red fruit, cherry skin and earth on the palate. Succulent textures and mildly complex. Med-long finish. Excellent on its own.

Memorial Day Weekend & Eyrie South Block Reserve Pinots (Willamette Valley, Oregon) : Quite nice aromas, with some dusty fruit. Thicker feeling on the palate than expected, with a creamy, soft texture. Fairly nice and mild. Grippy finish that's kind of chunky.

Garnet, ruby and brick with medium viscosity in the glass. Kirsch, cedar, vanilla, black cherry and plum on the nose. Medium body with primary fruit, black cherry, black berry and cedar on the palate. Strong mid-palate. Grippy. Medium finish. Needs a couple years.

Fantastic bottle. Not tremendously earthy like the California Cabs, a lot of fruit and a nice nose (no pun intended, see label). Probably has two to 4 more years, as it's still maturing. A beautiful pinot! Enjoy it.

Color: Vibrant ruby Smell: Earth, cherries, raspberries, and clove. Taste: Bing cherries, strawberries, and a hint of cola followed by a lingering note of earth and mushrooms that ends with an influx of more red fruits along the finish. Overall: A very different wine from what I remember a little over two years ago now. More of a 'new world" style but still well balanced. There was deft balance that hid the 14.6% alcohol well. While I can agree that …

One of the better Pinot's coming from a fairly new, small producer in Yamhill, Oregon. Delicious black cherry and hints of mocha with a well-rounded mouth feel and balanced finish. Really excellent wine.

EXCELLENT Lots of fruit in what I thought was going to be more old school. Plenty of SOUR, sour cherry with nice acidity all the way through the mid-palate. I personally did not get Chocolate like a friend had told I would get but the cola was very evident. Soft and velvety finish that was not over run by the 14.6% EtOH.
