Domaine Jo Pithon Savennières

This was awesome--little funk, with waxing sheep's wool, hint of old pineapple and nectarine core, earthiness, sauteed shrooms, excellent med. body, bone dry. Really liked this and perfect age now. B&J's.

Honied, slightly nutty, slight hint of oxidation, waxy dark and rich; really nice, good extract and, very dry, lots of minerals, rocks, chalk, volcanic; didn't quite work with asian rice noodles.

Classic lanolin notes, a touch of intentional oxidation, but then it comes alive after warming up for a few minutes with guava and pineapple notes, an impression of honey and a little nutty; high acidity and a mineral backbone make this really interesting and great with a tuna-salmon-guava tartare with grilled sea bass the first night, and great with egg noddles, chicken and mushrooms the second night.

Anita: slight musky note; wet wool, lanolin, hay; canned pineapple juice, lemon peel, great minerality, hi a’s, stones, rock; long ish fin. Very good. Better next day!
