Marks & Spencer Sauvignon Gris Secano Estate

I had my eye on this for some time, given the unusual varietal. It turns out this is a delicious wine. It's pale, green-tinged, with a piercing lime, mineral and blossom nose. The taste is sharp but not too tart, and leans more towards a riesling than a sauvignon blanc. It's crisp, citrous, minerally, and slightly floral on the palate, too, and totally clean. Very nice, and probably priced just about right. A nice change, quite serious but totally enjoyable. …
