Epic for a cab franc. Perfectly aged - still a huge, huge wine but now with soft, rounded edges over its lush fruit. Amazing.

Dark fruit and cedar on the nose, but overall somewhat restrained. The palate really shines however with decadent dark fruit and cedar notes highlighted with precise red fruit notes on the long delicious finish. Great mouthfeel, smooth, and simply delicious. Drinking really well now.

Absolutely delicious with grilled/smoked pork. Lots of deep dark fruit and flavor profile shifts over the course of the bottle so it just keeps being interesting...for xmas eve

I paired this with grilled salmon and thought it was quite good. I did not decant the bottle but let the glass aerate for about 30 minutes. This wine does not grab you by the nose, but I have to say I was impressed with the long finish.

Agree with an earlier comment about lots of sediment. Not the best bottle of Cab Franc from Chappellet we've had. Oddly disjointed with a strange finish...not green pepper, maybe a tad herbal?

STG does California Cabernet (Seattle) : served blind my least favorite of the flight (discounting the corked Realm). It smelled sweetly pruned and the alcohol was high. After it turned out to be Cab Franc, I tasted it again, and would never have guessed it - it seemed to lack any particular personality, other than too boozy. Meh.

Definitely showcased the Cab Franc. Got a big dose of ripened black fruit and dark cherry paired with the smoky herb flavor of the oak. Nice changeup wine.

overoaked in my opinion. The oak overpowered the fruit. A bit ripe in the fruit catagory. Now the positive, I enjoyed it and it complimented the herbed pork well.

Drank over two nights. Dark and full bodied. Excellent fruit with lots of smoky leather. What makes this wine a standout is how it shows the varietal. Very true to form. Distinct cab franc spice on the long finish.

Decanted one hour. This was just delicious. A phenomenal nose with some black and red fruit (blackberries, strawberries, cherries dominate), and some great floral notes - some dried rose petal in there. The palate is wonderful - great fruit, fresh acidity, sweet tannins - just a pleasure. Will wait at least one year for the next one.

This wine is stellar! The boquet is just beautiful. It is an aromatic delight. Elegant with just a hint of cloudiness which keeps me from scoring it higher. A true wine experience and not something found in wine very often. Really, really good. Highly recommended. Showing very well now, but probably will benefit from a little more age.

Quite a deep, inky, purply/black color. Strong, bright blackberry and cherry on the nose along with some spice. This has great fruit characteristics now that will only mature over a number of years. Excellent weight on the tongue with a moderately long finish makes this a great wine now that will only get better.

Purple to the rim. Forgiving nose of chocolate, coffee, blackberries and more chocolate. the palate was lush, simple and ripe, balanced and open. Nice cassis notes and some cocoa, medium bodied and pretty average finish, this was uninspiring tonite. was waiting for more but nothing going. certainly ready to drink, this wine, while tasty, does not inspire.
