This bottle is a small cut above the already remarkable bottles I had before. This it really an exceptional wine at this price. And shows no sign of slowing down. Naturally I wish I had bought a whole case. My 2020 notes are still perfectly on point.

Audozed cork in, in the wine fridge, for about 1 hour, then fully decanted at room temp for another hour before serving. Wanted to give this some oppurtunity to open up and compare to my May 25, 2023 note, see if there was more to it. Less funk but not all gone, more preserved red fruit (cranberries especially), but overall still consistent with my previous notes. This is what it is, which a is good, solid wine. Pop their BdM …

Audozed cork out for about an hour and a half before we tried it at the Kymanox pop-up tasting. This could have used a full decant and minimum 2 full hours because this was James Brown step back and watch yourself funky- red cherries and leather all mixed up in notes of damp earth, forest floor, and compost with a dash of horse stable for good measure. Decent acidity, typical of RdM, with a rough and rustic texture. Enjoyable at …

Decent with 30 minutes of air, a tad better on day 2. Juicy with a primary sweetness, easygoing and pleasant, perhaps not quite enough weight, but evened out as it breathed. Black cherry, star anise, vanilla. Medium-short finish, silty tannins that integrated better with extra time. IMO fairly priced at $20, but at this price point I'd usually rather find a half decent Chianti. (Perhaps ironically, up in the $30 range I'd almost always prefer a low-end Brunello to a …

Delicious as a PnP. Creamy red fruit, licorice. Feral, rustic. Nice acid and approachable tannin. Serious? Meh. But delish for its price point.

Quite fruity and vanilla on the nose, which is unexpected. A lot of red candied fruit on the palate with some dark chocolate bitterness. Still very tight and young obviously. Like the tannins structure, but the finish is just medium.

Brilliant/bright garnet, aromas of dried herbs, cherries, prunes, chestnut, rose petals, charcoal, tar and a hint of slight farmyard. Good acid structure, can feel the spine all the way from front to back of palate with firm gritty tannins. Classic savoury and rustic Italian style. Very approachable now, can age easily in the next 5-10 years.

Very good Rosso, fragrant and with the body and intensity that I look for in this type of wine. Nose shows notes of cherries, earth, orange peel/marzipan and wood spices. Approchable now, may get even better in a year or two.

This is an impressive rosso from Talenti. Significant red fruity nose, with some earthiness. Palate has more of the juicy red fruit and leather and a minerality that is very appealing.

Red fruits and fresh soil on the nose. Medium body. Palate of raspberry, strawberry, lots of earth, leather. Chalky tannins, med + acidity. Finish shows some black cherry combined with leather and earth.

2h air. Medium-light garnet color. Offers up chocolate, raspberry, forest floor, dust and pepper. Youthful but already graceful, silky texture and juicy raspberry on the palate, with streaks of chocolate. Medium bodied with chalky tannins. Definitely could use a little time, but still quite nice.

Opened 1 hour but not decanted. Light red colour. Light red glacé cherries on nose with violets. A little savouriness and leather. On the palate there’s a good acidity and quite a tannic grip - lots of strawberries and clear thyme notes. Young but drinking - would benefit from a decent. Good persistence.

The first bottle tasted was clearly off; the second bottle, ideal. Put this in the ever-growing category of really good, highly recommended rosso di Montalcino wines that need a few years before they'll be in their ideal drinking windows. Great freshness, energy, structure, etc., though the complexity factor will require some more bottle rest before it's begun to show itself. Medium-bodies, textbook, and exactly what I've come to expect from this producer. I'm sad to see these wines creep up …

Bright cherry red in color with a hint of brick at the edge. Fairly primary on the nose, showing mostly sour cherry and raspberry fruit aromas alongside a slight whiff of VA. There’s also a nice fresh-rose floral undertone that emerges with some air, as well as a touch of licorice. On the palate, it’s textbook traditional sangiovese—medium bodied, sour cherry, herbs, a touch of leather and smoke, a good dose of acid, and moderate but slightly bitter tannin. It’s …

Tasted this along side a 2008 Brunello di Montalcino, and a 2015 Sangiovese blend. All wines had a similar tart cherry flavor, but this wine was easy drinking upon PnP. Smoother than the Brunello, which needed 2-3 hours in the decanter.

Fresh ripe cherries, roses, butter and leather, set the elegant bouquet of this rosso, alcoholic and flowerish. Medium bodied, acidic, in great shape delivering fresh red fruit on mid palate and tabacco/coffee on the quite persistent leather finish. Great QPR for this round italian. 88

VinItaly Day 2 (Verona, Italy) : Pretty crimson, see through; great melted red fruit and licorice nose, sandalwood, sour cherry, intense, some mineral; sweet fruit on the palate, sweet tannin, mid palate is special, cherry and ripe strawberry; delicious; consistently one of my favorite RdMs and this is no different.
