Tart apple, and a bitter component like pear skin. Opens up a bit to some fuller ripe pear but overall its a bit disjointed. The components don't fully line up

Reminds me of the California Chards that I grew up with - BIG but not as big as its more $$$ brethern, fairly typical juicy but not too "fat", their "value" premium level. For the right price this is definitely OK! Still, I think some of the Oregon entry level offerings currently out there are probably better value.....

Light golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, lemons/limes & some pears with overtones of minerals & a hint of vanilla/oak. Medium light bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of apples, lemons/limes & grapefruit with minerals, spices & a hint of vanilla/oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present. Very good QPR when found at discount.

Nose of green apple and cotton candy Taste of earth, lemon grass, a little oak, little butter, creamy. Nicely balanced for a value bottle.

There was nothing about this $20 bottle of Chardonnay that impressed me. After all, I can buy a bottle of Kendall Jackson reserve for $12 and get better juice. Heavy on oak, with strong buttery malo fermentation.

Amazing for $10 at Costco. Light Golden. Restrained nose. Lovely mouthfeel. Crisp. Vibrant. Light fruits and honey in the mouth. Long refreshing finish. I really didn't get oak as someone had commented. Wonderful everyday Chard if you're looking for one.

Calif. value 2019 Sbragia Family Chardonnay Russian River Valley ($10 on sale at Costco). Sharp mid-gold, viscous (14.1 alc.); tropical, pear, malolactic nose; low-mid acids; medium-full depth; long unctuous finish (some residual sugar?). Easy sipping w/cheeses, appetizers. 15-15.5 UC Davis scale, 88-89 other scales.

As pointed out in the last note, Ed Sbragia is the “king” of Chardonnay in California; he consistently makes excellent Chard’s from a variety of diverse vineyard materials, across numerous AVA’s. This particular offering definitely displays its California heritage and style, but with an oak treatment regimen, which seems better balanced and more restrained from what I remember from past vintages. Slightly youthful, with oak, fruit, and acidity looking to integrate; but I expect this will all come together within …

Not that often do I get to write the first CT TN on a wine. Brought to Duke's Chophophouse in Hickory NC. Definitely recommend and a very good QPR wine. With 1-2 more years of aging under proper cellaring conditions and with a little softening and more integration I see 91 possibly even 92 points and based on our previous experiences with previous vintages of this wine it will cellar nicely for another 2-3 years before starting to degrade. A …
