I brought a bottle of the Blueberry Wine to an “Open Red” blind tasting. Seemed like the only way to sneak in a proper ringer at an open format. I didn’t check the back label, so I’m not sure if it was the ’22 or ’23. I’ve had it several times before and always loved it. Unfortunately this bottle wasn’t pristine. It had a noticeable secondary fermentation, even a bit of leakage from the pressure. I opened, shook, and recorked …

Fruitier than last time. Guests liked it a lot.

Served blind to guests, guesses were gamay or an austrian red (e.g. st laurent). Everybody was very surprised when the wine was revealed

Nothing much to add that’s not already been said. It’s like blueberry Pinot Noir. Love the acidic spine. It paired effortlessly with Turkish meatballs and yogurt sauce, then Moroccan nachos.

I had my 10 year old smell this and guess what kind of wine it was. He very quickly identified blueberry! The nose smells like a barrel of ripe blueberries! The palate is harder to pin down as there are hints of blueberry, but it could also easily pass for a lighter bodied red wine. I really enjoyed this purchases.

Loved this. Very blueberry aromas but with the soul of a red wine.

Blueberries, red raspberry, potpourri, earth. Very bright and clean with medium+ to high acid. Decent length, great crunchy texture. Liked this a lot more than I thought I would! Reminds me of a beaujolais (sans funk) or a pinot.

Like a stainless steel aged Syrah, straightforward blueberry, with some earthiness and herb. Very easy drinking.

Blueberries, brambly leaves, fir bought, red cherry, herbs, and damp earth on the nose. Cranberry, blueberry, green herbs, earth, cherry, and lemon on the palate. Strong mouthwatering acidity, grippy tannins, medium blueberry bush finish. Delicious and fascinating wine. I would serve it with food that you might normally serve with pinot noir Thanksgiving dinner wine? Oh yes.

Hard to get past the blueberry nose and blueberry pie flavor profile. Slightly sweet finish. You can tell that this is not a traditional wine. Hopefully will integrate with time.

2025 Berserker Day Purchase 11% AC, poured light body like a Pinot. Translucent, no intrusive oak or tannin, but a nice structure carrying everything along. Unexpected lengthy finish. Licorice, flowers, blueberry soda, blueberries of all sorts on the nose. More blueberries on the palate, along with blue sweetarts, with more tarts showing up on the finish. I get the other reference to an effervescence on the front of the palate, but not distracting. Not something I’d drink everyday, but this …

Popped and poured. The analogies to a cru Beaujolais seemed apt at first, with just a hint of blueberry on the nose. When we returned to the wine 3+ hours later, it had opened up, and the blueberry scents exploded from the glass. One taster found it overwhelming. I quite liked it.

If this were grapes, it'd be a phenomenal wine. Being made from unadulterated blueberries? That's just them flexing, y'all. Bravo!

The nose on this is perhaps the most distinctive part of the wine (that distinguishes this from grape wine). Incredibly floral and concentrated nose - this might be the part that gives it away, but this would be very much fun to bring as a blind ringer to confuse everyone. Perhaps the only other time I have encountered such dense blueberry (duh) notes is in Aglianaco. A really fun drink and absolutely a great deal for the price.

Really interesting. Very blueberry but quite savory and very acidic. Blind no one guessed blueberry wine (save one).

So interesting. Fully dry, but more fruity and less tannic than typical wine. Really enjoyed the unique experience.

Intense berries with racy acidity. Fairly unidirectional but considering that this is not made from grapes it is a really incredible drink. Tasted just as good on day 2

Opened it last night, and it was its usual fantastic self, but after 24 hours of air it is just exploding from the glass, it is simply amazing, Kelley and Jim are magicians, next to Bordelet Granit this is my favorite non-grape derived fermented beverage, and I would put both of them among my favorite drinks of all time. Anyone who can't recognize how special this is must be counted as a poser. Don't be a snob, drink blueberry wine...

Agree with jjyoyo that the first place I go is gamay. Zingy acidity, pleasant earthiness, blueberry and blueberry pie notes (duh), and very nice complexity. It doesn’t have much persistence on the mid palate or finish, but quite refreshing and delicious. Really fun to blind people on this.

As you’d expect, a lot of blueberry muffin scents, but what was surprising was the extra earthy, stalky, and acidic zingy tones to it. If I had to compare it to a grape wine it seems like a young Gamay. Possibly ageable for a few years. No idea what that would bring. Score : 91. Relative to expectations: ++

This was opened with some friends as I thought it would be an interesting pull with a BBQ dinner. I served it blind to them, and guesses ranged from Cinsault to Gamay to early picked Zinfandel. I can see the merit in each of those thoughts. Aromatic in the glass with a green peppercorn note, there is bay leaf and sour cherry. Of course, you find plenty of blueberry on the nose and palate as well. The alcohol feels low …

Opened and served double blind to the group. Aromas of wild blueberry and sage brush, with much of the same on the palate. The blueberry qualities are so pure and wonderful, and there’s this great resiny/sappy quality to it that I find very appealing. Excellent- I wish I’d have grabbed more than two bottles.

There is indeed something reminiscent of Pinot Noir here, but I should think that pretty much any Pinot Noir with this much sweet ripe blueberry flavor would be quite a bit higher in alcohol, this is just 11%. Aromas of blueberries mostly, ripe and sweet, plus nice nuances of conifers, lemon candy and violets. On the palate it is at once smooth and tart, waves of perfect blueberry pulsate with subtle earthy and herbal tones, there's a tiny hint of …

Really awesome stuff. I won't give it a number rating as I don't have any other experiences with blueberry wine to compare it to, but I can say it was highly aromatic, energetic, and delicious, just like her wonderful Pinot Noirs. My first time tasting it was at the winery- served blind, I was basically thinking "how can this incredible pinot noir smell so vividly of blueberry muffins???"- and then the reveal was pretty fantastic. It really does smell like …

Served blind. Very forward and aromatic nose. Tons of candied fruit that I couldn't quite pin down. Palate was rather nice and enjoyable, again with forward fruit. Couldn't figure out what this was, some type of fruity forward pinot or Oregon Gamay, didn't seem carbonic or natural either. When the bag came off as blueberry wine suddenly it all made sense. After realizing it was not from grapes, I enjoyed this quite a bit more. Nice party trick that got …
