Dark, intense, alcoholic, yet with lots of acidity and the "lacquer" of French oak. In my tasting experience, Petite Sirahs do not age and develop the same way as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir. They don't really change much; they just get older. Paired against a 2002 Stephen Ross Petite Sirah Thomann Station, this was my preference as it was slightly cleaner. A wine that will continue to hold for a while.

Perhaps it is not ready to drink. There was a sharp edge to the wine on the finish as the tannins were a bit astringent and there was a metallic edge there. The fruit was good but not as deep as expected. The body was also not as dense or velvety as I'd like in a PS. Good to very good but didn't wow me.

Lovely dark purple with obvious legs. Smooth brambleberry, tannins not pronounced but subtle, long pallette, exellent wine with meat, bolonese sauce. A great bargain and will look for this wine again.

Continue to love this wine. Drank on a cruise about 2 weeks ago. Continues to impress. Light in color and mouthfeel compared to most Petite Sirahs. Opens it up to more food types. Had with lamb shanks; wonderful.

Consistently one of our favoirte Petite Sirahs. Well balanced, nice dark fruit. Pairs well with food, or can be drunk alone.

Love this wine. Not as musty-dusty in the mouth as most Petite Sirahs. Still had the deep, dark purple color. Lots of dark fruit in the mouth, like a plum and blackberry. Had with beef stew; great pairing.

Infanticide, even at this age. Decanted for two hours. Big nose of blackberry, vanilla, black currant, and a little heat. On the palate, black currant jam, blackberry, spicy oak. Finished bone dry with substantial tannins. Excellent with good upaide. OK Value. Hold at least 3 more years if you have any. Have a little left, will add notes if it has integrated.

I would rate higher than 85 - say 88 but agree that the initial taste is tanniny and needs to breath a bit to get full flavor and mouth feel.
