A.J. Adam, Dhroner Hofberg Riesling Qba Feinherb, Mosel

Bought on a whim at auction. This was really good. Apparently this is essentially a GG but couldn't be labeled as such as Adam at the time was not in the VDP. In any event, this was full-bodied and sleek at the same time, showing some development but not tertiary or overly petrolly. Bright acids, yellow/golden fruit. In no danger of falling off but in a pretty great spot for my taste.

El corcho había supurado ligeramente. Amarillo. Nariz expresiva, pera madura, manzana en sazón, miel ligera, corteza de cítrico y un toque de keroseno. En boca muy buen ataque, cierto carácter afrutado, muy buena acidez, cuerpo medio y bastante persistencia. Para amantes de la #riesling de carácter maduro.

I thought this was the GG, but Zachy's gave me the wrong bottle. I wasn't happy, but this wine was really delicious with Chinese food. Dinner with 'Mike on Tour' from Wine Berserkers. A hint of petrol and minerals dancing around in my mouth. Some sweetness. This was delicious. Now I can I can purchase an Adam if I see one in the store.

Lots of apple aroma and flavors with some orange peel and a slight candied element coming through in middle. Lots of vibrant minerality adds supporting character.

Apple, peach, and citrus on the nose. Rich but light palate, with the residual sugar and generous acidity in balance. There is a slight mineral, almost salty undercurrent, and it manifests itself in the long finish. An enjoyable wine.

fairly ripe it seems (11.5% abv) but not a very expressive nose - slightly cheesy?, too weighty - it lugs along, not enough acidity perhaps, certainly has no drive on the palate, sluggish, don't want to drink it.

Goodness Gracious! Is this a perfect dry Riesling? It is pure in every way! It has a beautiful lightly pungent nose, ripe but not too ripe grapefruit, dried orange peel, tart riesling fruit. Amazing in the mouth. How can the mouth be so full and not overly ripe, and yet be so concentrated. The flavor and feel just lingers. In the mouth the wine builds from initial tartness, to nature-like sweetness, to a bright, tight delicious finish that has parts …

2012 - A brand new start with the gang : Alcohol :: 13% A.P 2 594 581 02 11. Popped and poured. Very tight on the nose with some sulphur note dominated. Grapefruits, citrus, pear, mineral and touch of pineapple note. Very elegance and intense on the palate, with soft, lightly creamy texture wrapping up the sweet yellow fruits attack on the entry. Energetic and fresh, very fine and detail on the long lingering finish. The wine is absolutely singing. …

Lots of lime and minerals in this wine. The minerality includes an interesting soil flavor and a saltiness that doesn't taste like table salt (i.e. not like sodium). The nose is reticent, but the wine is very delicious. Very vinous and not fruity with a long spicy finish. Andreas calls it his "GG." I also wrote in my note "smells like something funny," whatever that means.

Apples and pears on the nosse. Filled with herbs and wonderful dryish acid. There is a hint of molasses or maybe it is anise. Stones and electricity energize the palate. It is not quite as tart as the basic Drohner and Andreas says the vines are a little older than those that make that wine.
