Love it or some may hate it. It's massive and it's rich, but I tend to love it. Go there on a cold night when you want to be covered in thick and luxurious warmth. The initial nose is strongly reminiscent of a multi layered port. As for the wine, it's suprisingly drinkable straight away or can easily hold its own for many many hours in the decanter thanks to its massive fruit, huge structure and 16% alchohol. That said, …

An intense nose of grilled meat, licorice and liquer. The body remains voluptous, layered and sexy. The tannins have melted away with age, revealing a fantastic palate of deep concentration sweetness not unlike port. Decanted for two hours. After drinking for about an hour, the sweetness fades away, leaving a savoury finish. Outstanding aussie shiraz at the top of its game. Extra points for QPR. (Bought for US$50)

A bizarre wine. Super ripe fruit and explosive taste, with tons of sweet glycerine and alcohol. Almost resembles a cognac (with a fruit compotte) on the nose, with a sharp alcoholic scent. Not in balance, just overdone. It is hard to finish much more than one glass, and after that one you start worrying about tomorrow's hangover.

Australian wine tasting at Wine Exchange Asia (Wine Exchange Asia) : 8/10 - A well made monster of a wine. Wife and Terence loved this a lot. Good fruit and acidity. Everything's in place and in song. My main issue is with the 16% alcohol. It's evident but thankfully mostly in a sweet alcohol manner... some heat still does come through though. Nice as it is, would I be able to enjoy this for the entire evening? Most likely not. …

Eucalypt, peaches and red berries. Ripe but not hot. Good structure over the top of the ripe fruit.
