Alas, my last 2015 that I purchased for $25. An amazing value for the price. Lush fruit, round tannins. A bit of eucalyptus and chocolate. Paired well with a thick veal chop and polenta.

2022: Top Ten Wines; 1/1/2022-12/31/2023 (Redwood City, CA) : This wine continues to delight and surprise, maintaining its depth and seductive powers. Gave 1.5h of air. Deep ruby color. Offers layers and waves of blackberry, red currant, smoke, clay dust, coffee and jalapeño. Velvety and succulent, full-bodied. Red and black fruit, peppery, with a hint of truffle weaving through, leading to a smoky sweet finish. Underpinned by broad polished tannins.

Distinct cola on the nose with fresh berries and dark chocolate. A touch of a potpourri leafiness. Sexy texture. Lean feel on the palate but unfurls a nice expression of red and black berry fruit. That cola quality persists with the perception of some sweetness. Nice wine. Very pleasant.
