As soon as the bottle was popped, the aroma took me straight back to the tasting we had in the Calem cave in Porto last year. Served chilled, with charcuterie and cheese (and a British pork pie) this had the right balance of sweetness and acidity to complement everything on the plate.

All the classic vintage port markers. Was a bit worried by previous taste notes and because I cant remember if I've actually tried this producer before. But it was a very nice bottle. Maybe not as complex as a Fonseca or Taylors but very enjoyable and quite elegant.

Served a little too warm than the lightlly chilled recommendation. Ruby with tawny highlights. The nose has cooked sultana, raisin and plum fruits like a Christmas pudding. The palate is sweet and raisiny with a bit of alcohol heat on the finish. Not the best 10 year old tawny but one of the cheaper ones. Not served at the best temperature, a little too warm.

Dekantert og luftet 8 t. Mørk og overraskende fyldig farge. Lukt av plommesyltetøy, varme svisker, mandelessens og litt alkohol. Smak av sukkerlake, overmodne plommer, rosin, litt anis og hint av kunstig fremstilt kirsebærsmak. Betydelig og skjemmende alkoholstikk. Fyldig, myk tekstur i munnen og middels minus lengde. For meg ble denne for søt og plump med for lite ryggrad. Føler at denne vinen var mer spennende for 3-4 år siden og kan neppe hente seg hente seg inn igjen.

Bought on line at bid for wine. Badly discribed by seller. Capsule broken and some leakage. Wine was showing age and lacked in fruit and any great depth. Sometimes a port is just that and I have had some better single quintas. Buyer beware. A bottle in better condition should taste better.

Fully mature with moccha and caramel nose. A clean, mature, velvety, perfectly tart behaviour on the palate. Well balanced, long but only a little complexity. This is an ace of a mature port with a steep price. From glass btl at Restaurant Tani (Gaienmae, Tokyo). Wife enjoyed the nose.

Tasted 3/3/2012. Retail: ~$30. I paid $10 at an online auction. I have not had a bunch of ports in my life. I guess I need to spend more time with Brian Freedman or Joe Roberts. Overall, a nice Tawny with good flavours of dried fruits and nuts. I found that the complexity was a bit lacking, though I did try it at the same time as a few exceptional 20-year olds and a great Colheita. If you like your Tawny you'll enjoy this.

Mostly the same as last time, though it did improve somewhat after decanting for almost two days. This bottle was slightly better than the last time i tried this wine, but not by much. It's still excellent with cheese and has a very good QPR.

Didn't decant it long enough, it had too much alcohol for my taste. This is the third time I've tried this inexpensive and good wine but it becomes evidently clear that it stills needs to come into it's own (or if it's mature now, then I guess this is it unfortunately).Strong on blackberry and other dark berries, some chocolate and licorice. Smooth and even taste but slight and forgettable finish.
