Til grevinnen og hovmesteren. Smuldrekork. Litt ufin nese med hyll og modning og rosin. Moden smak med sultan rosiner, lakris, plomme. Kanskje litt vel moden. 3 dager i halvflaske. Kålrabi på nesen. Kaputt

As soon as the bottle was popped, the aroma took me straight back to the tasting we had in the Calem cave in Porto last year. Served chilled, with charcuterie and cheese (and a British pork pie) this had the right balance of sweetness and acidity to complement everything on the plate.

All the classic vintage port markers. Was a bit worried by previous taste notes and because I cant remember if I've actually tried this producer before. But it was a very nice bottle. Maybe not as complex as a Fonseca or Taylors but very enjoyable and quite elegant.

Kork ut hel i god form. Mørke brun og rød farge. Ikke helt klar. Lukter mørk karamell, men lukten forsvinner fort. Tyktflytende konsistens. Mørk karamell også på smak. Sjokolade. Passe søt. Merkbar alkohol. Mye smak. Litt hul smak. Virker ikke som en helt optimal flaske. Meget lang. God, men kanskje litt ubalansert og litt mye alkoholpreg. Drukket over fem dager. Stått i kjøleskapet. Oppleves mer balansert og fyldig etter noen dager. Alkoholen også bedre integrert. Øker poengsummen fra 90 til …

Served a little too warm than the lightlly chilled recommendation. Ruby with tawny highlights. The nose has cooked sultana, raisin and plum fruits like a Christmas pudding. The palate is sweet and raisiny with a bit of alcohol heat on the finish. Not the best 10 year old tawny but one of the cheaper ones. Not served at the best temperature, a little too warm.

Rich and layered caramel and toffee top note over bitter almond and dried red berries. Precise, focused and long.

Bottled 2017. Bottle is open for two days: cherry red colour, smells of marzipan, raisins and smoke, light body, not that sweet, in the mouth a little bit of marzipan, raisins and acidity, in the aftertaste raisins, a little bit of marzipan and acidity, medium length (20 sec), good Tawny, I like the Calem house style

Medium garnet to medium tawny colour. Nose: Blackberries, dark cherries, dried figs, rosehip, violets, tar, some dark chocolate. A bit of alcohol on the nose, but nothing unpleasant. (88p) Taste: Medium sweet and quite peppery. Moderate fruitiness. Appears mature. Drier and better structured than last time tasted (11 months ago). Parts of this wine reminds me of a 20 year old tawny. (86p) Mature. Drinking well now. Developed and kept nicely in closed, refrigerated bottle over a week after opening. …

(Drunk straight after decanting) APPEARANCE: Brick red with a tint of orange at the rim. NOSE: Takes a little while to open up. Starting with dried figs, dark plums, some tar, some alcohol and a little black pepper. Old berry liqueurs, mulled wine, dried ginger, hints of marzipan and semolina (86p) TASTE: The arrival is sweet, with a moderate punch. On the mid palate there is not very much fruit but there is some freshness/acidity although it's not completely balanced. …

Drunk from D+8. Always hot in the nose - hints of pink on pale brown - full, lush, pleasant - some rancio, some peel, but all a little one-dimensional and uninspiring - albeit with an incredibly long finish - I'd expected more.

Pale ruby/brown in the glass, dried fruit flavors with caramel, notes of spice and wood. There was a bit of astringency that was off-putting. @DeltaOne

Tawny is not, it must be said my favourite style of Port, but, of its genre, this as not at all shabby - all honey and smoothness, with a few nuts and a dash of dark marmalade - some stomach heat and quite a long finish.
Taster #3825 · Nov 26, 2014
Good wine. Lacking serious concentration and complexity. Perhaps better than most other 10 year Tawny wines on the market.
Taster #3825 · Nov 26, 2014
Modern, filtered LBV. Simple red and black fruit notes, some dried fruits, raisin, fig etc. Warming alcohol. Simple wine.

Drunk straight after decanting. Colour: Ruby, towards red brown. Nose: Initially somewhat muted. Gradually opening up red berries, a little tar, some marcipan, some alcohol and the smallest hint of boiled strawberry marmalade. Taste & Palate: Sweet, smooth, noticeable alcohol. Rounded wine. More sweetness than fruit, although there seem to be some fruit hiding somewhere underneath the sweetness and alcohol. Medium long aftertaste where finally some rounded tannins and freshness / acidity shows up. First impression: Decent, mature, sweet, but …

Bought on line at bid for wine. Badly discribed by seller. Capsule broken and some leakage. Wine was showing age and lacked in fruit and any great depth. Sometimes a port is just that and I have had some better single quintas. Buyer beware. A bottle in better condition should taste better.

Fully mature with moccha and caramel nose. A clean, mature, velvety, perfectly tart behaviour on the palate. Well balanced, long but only a little complexity. This is an ace of a mature port with a steep price. From glass btl at Restaurant Tani (Gaienmae, Tokyo). Wife enjoyed the nose.

Tasted 3/3/2012. Retail: ~$30. I paid $10 at an online auction. I have not had a bunch of ports in my life. I guess I need to spend more time with Brian Freedman or Joe Roberts. While I found this pleasant enough, there certainly was little ‘wow’ factor. I was also rather hammered at this point, so I will refrain from rating this one. * http://www.thedrunkencyclist.com

Overall, a nice Tawny with good flavours of dried fruits and nuts. I found that the complexity was a bit lacking, though I did try it at the same time as a few exceptional 20-year olds and a great Colheita. If you like your Tawny you'll enjoy this.

Mostly the same as last time, though it did improve somewhat after decanting for almost two days. This bottle was slightly better than the last time i tried this wine, but not by much. It's still excellent with cheese and has a very good QPR.

Didn't decant it long enough, it had too much alcohol for my taste. This is the third time I've tried this inexpensive and good wine but it becomes evidently clear that it stills needs to come into it's own (or if it's mature now, then I guess this is it unfortunately).Strong on blackberry and other dark berries, some chocolate and licorice. Smooth and even taste but slight and forgettable finish.

Duft: Svisker, fiol, røyk, litt lakris, kaffe.

Belo tawny
