Château Menaut Sauvignon Blanc Blanc

fresh from the frige it is very new-worldy sauv blanc but with a refinement that balances the exotic guava and grassyness. All smiles for Labor Day weekend quaff.

Tasted single blind in a lineup of Sauv Blanc. Bewitching savory aromas, much different texture than any other wine there. Almost a briny character, with minerality that recalls the smell of the sea. Very old worldy and in my opinion fabulous, but it was a polarizing. My #3, but it had as many 'worst' votes as votes in favor.

The aromatics of this wine were outstanding and continued to evolve as it warmed. It had classic "gooseberry" twang right out of the bottle but after 20-30 minutes we had mint, grass and funky mango. The palate was fairly congruous but the tropical flavor and cardamom predominated. The finish had some heat and fell apart a tiny bit that kept it from a more exalted rating but also did not detract from my enjoying this Great summer Wine ! good …
