My last bottle, still really good after 15 years, proof that some inexpensive wines can take a substantial amount of age. Deep purple berries, oak, bourbon, but well balanced and this one really wasn't showing any signs of being over the hill. It did not need decanting.

Initial opening was not sure if it turned. But after a few hours of decanting it’s still good. Complex medium bodied wine. Paired best with cheese not as well with chocolate or quality cookies.

Last of 4, and these have been a great QPR—I mean, still rocking at going on 12 years for a $15 bottle of Argentine wine? Hard to complain there. Dense coloring at the outset, with ruby at the edges. Aromas of damp earth, might actually be lightly corked to be honest, dark and dark red fruits—plum and blackberry jump out, sage, and eucalyptus. Medium body, medium (+) acid and finish, and flavors of cassis, blackberry, black raspberry, plum, black tea and dry leaves. Juicy and delicious, but dry and staying as well. Again, this shows the potential for aging solid (but not high end) wines. It doesn't improve with being open, so drink up. A surprising amount of complexity and just a hint of the plum/port flavors that I associate with over the hill wine.

Rose petal scent. Chunky, black cherry, raspberry, tobacco, fennel and chocolate flavor with plenty of grippy tannins on the finish. Opens a bit tight, but let it breathe and/or aerate. Once again, even though the wine has been stored in moderate to high humidity, the cork was dry and crumbled upon opening.

Spice, herb and green wood scent. Rich, round, dark fruit, chocolate and mint flavor with ample fine tannins. Although stored with many other wines that did not exhibit the problem, the cork was very dry and crumbled upon opening. Perhaps the resultant filter, aereation and decanting helped.

Either this has improved a lot of or I was just in the mood... I think this wine has aged elegantly. Silky smooth in the mouth, an elegant wine with a medium to long finish. It was even better on day 2 with dark fruits emerging that weren't there on day 1. Glad I let this lay down so long.

Deep opaque purplish red in the glass with a nose of blueberries, grapes, and leather. Notes of black and blue fruits with brown sugar and loam. Outstanding wine for the price! Well structured tannin and nice acidity. We'll balanced. I can only hope the rest of my bottles compare.

Deep ruby color. Nose of dark fruits, spearmint, and a bit of oak. Plushness from the merlot comes through, but a nice Bdx blend overall, if a bit modern in style. Full bodied w/ a medium+ finish and good acidity. Blue and black fruits on the palate w/ a little mineral and spice. Very smooth and easy drinking, but I'm noticing the tannins towards the end of the bottle. This has some years left yet. I'd like to try it …

Quite a nice surprise. Full bodied, intense, black and red fruits are quite evident, soft tannins, and spicy finish that shows some acidity. Good drinker with red meats and roasts. 2nd day sour cherries are prevalent. Tastes similar to a Super Tuscan at half the price.
