Gibbston Valley, China Terrace Pinot Noir, Central Otago

Deep ruby in the glass Pronounced nose of brooding dark cherries, boysenberries, pungent truffle. Palate is quite high in acid, tannins are present, though subtle, full bodied. Flavours are consistent with the nose, more fruit forward and a little warm with a long finish.

Nose is a lovely melange of freshly powdered spices and hints of dark red fruit hiding in the background. Palate is still tannic but with a very smooth cinnamon spiciness and a supple texture in there somewhere. Very pure. Excellently made. A little tart on its own but really started to sing with our Penne Alfredo. Lovely medium bodied Pinot.
