Never would have imagined a Clos du Val zin could taste this good. This was hitting on all cylinders ... wonderful nuanced secondary characteristics, but with enough fruit to carry it through the evening. Anticipated this would be a throw away bottle, instead was one of the best zins I've ever had.

OK, it is National Zinfansel day and saw this bottle in the cellar. Solid cork, initial musty nose which disappeared over the next 10 min. Minimal browning, good flavor and 30 min late it took a nose dive. Glad to try it instead of down the drain...

Nez aguicheur, animal, fruit mûr, cendre, une touche végétale. Bouche sur la souplesse, mais à forte dominance d'alcool. Cet alcool (14,5%) tombe d'ailleurs un peu sur le coeur. Néanmoins, tanins tendres et fruités....mais reste que cet excès d'alcool tombe sur le coeur. En rachèterait? Non.

Very claret like zin. Excellent finish, lots of fruit. Licorice and cherries in the aroma. Black cherries in the taste Well structured, and nice complexity.
