Excellent pinot noir. I thought these might start reaching their peak, but this seems like it has a few more years left in it.

This wine seems to get better with age, it was very smooth with nice fruit, it is almost on the boarder on silky... Purchased on release, PNP ...it did have that funky barnyard smell which dissipated after about 15 minutes

A delicious mature pinot that continues to age gracefully!

At this stage we are left with an earthy nose of sage and dark berry which leads way to a palate of blackberry, plum and spice that linger on a somewhat long finish. If you are holding more of these my advice is to drink up in the near term.

This wine is only a shell of it's former self. Still nice, but the thrill is gone. Drink up.

Very dark, concentrated with darker berry nose. Compared to the 03 Hellenthal (which I preferred because of its bright cherry fruit) this was much earthier and less of the fruit on the palate than last year. Still a wonderful wine with a chocolate cola lingering finish. Drink up.

Remarkably deep, blue and black-brown, floral bouquet with strawberry and spice; tantalizing, silky candy; plenty intense and boozy but with diminished fruit and no additional nuance in return. Drink up and love this for all that's left, and for all that was.

Purple cranberry color. Bluefruit nose. Blueberries, spice, kiwi, acid, alcohol. Needs 2 hours + to open up.

Notwithstanding my prediction of last year, it now appears this wne has headed over the hill. Nose was very earthy, with chalk, chocolate, saw dust, and black cherry notes. Palate has faded, leaving muted notes of chocolate covered cherry and chalky raspberry. Tannins are gone.

This wine appears fully mature with dark fruit nose and slight brick edge showing compared to the 03 Chehalem Ridgecrest we had next to it (much younger appearing and brighter acidity on the palate). It is in a perfectly balanced place with concentrated berry flavors that last and show great depth and finish. I'm going to drink my last four bottles over the next couple of years. This doesn't seem like it will improve from here.

Delicious, but not quite up to the last 4 bottles. But I do feel a cold coming on, so it might be my palate.

Well, I took my full allocation on release...and this is the first bottle I have opened?!? What strikes me first is how smooth and plush this wine is. Has the rich fruit and killer Ca. Pinot spice...and not a sharp edge to be found. Gorgeous wild berry, strawberry, plumcherry fruit...earth dust, sandalwood spice, oak dipped in cola, lovely dried florals, cranberry tartness. Super balance, tasty with deep flavors......the WS 97 is a little on the high side, even for me....but …

Sacred Cow stands before the forest (Restaurant X, Oklahoma, OK) : WIML90? Tasted double blind October 16, 2009 at an offline. Garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of blueberries, black berries, underbrush and black cherries. Flavors of black cherries and black berries. Medium acidity, tannins and body. Drink with air and maybe hold over the medium term. My guess was a California Pinot Noir along the lines of 2002 Kosta Browne or 2004 Rivers Marie.

WIML85- Tasted July 13, 2009. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about two hours. Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Jammy and hot nose of berries, smoke, cassis and cola. Big and hot palate of black berries, jam and currants. Light to medium acidity, medium to firm tannins, medium to full bodied. Time has not been good to this bottle. Basically a hot, disjointed mess. WIML85 is probably being too kind. Drink now.

My best bottle of this so far, by far. Nose of sage, juniper, raspberry, pine and clove. On the palate, a pure beam of black cherry fruit, with notes of cocoa, raspberry, vanilla and nutmeg. Braced well with balanced acidity. This wine keeps getting better with age and would appear to have a long life ahead.

Squalid. Could not say it was ruined, cooked, corked, etc., no obvious flaw other than it was very unenjoyable. A mess of alcohol, some grape juice and some thickening agent. Last place of 15 pinots in a pinot tasting.

Oklahoma City Offline - 03/11/2009 (Can't really say...) : WIML91? Tasted March 11, 2009 at an offline. Can't remember whether this was one of the wines decanted but I don't think so. Purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Huge nose (again) with notes of currants, berries, cherries and wet stones. Big on the palate as well (again) with flavors of currants, black cherries, anise and some bitters on the medium to long finish. Light to medium acidity, medium …

This jewel has gained complexity since last year. The bouquet still features delicious fruit, a tad of smoke, and toasted marshmallow. But on the palate its concentrated rivers of festive cherry and cream now flow over undertones of earth, olives, green grapes, ballpoint pen ink, and comlementary minerality.
