Tortochot, Gevrey-Chambertin, Champerrier Vieilles Vignes

Quite a dashing nose of red berry, leading me to discern its primary notes as tart red fruit. The palate does catch me off guard, however, being surprisingly opulent across the mid-palate and faint in acidity. But the tartness does a fine job keeping the wine's vibrancy alive. Overall, a very solid wine with a medium finish that does linger for some time. Likely will not improve with extended aging, but does offer an excellent return now.

Red fruited. Strawberry, red cherry, hint of rhubarb initially. Light to medium framed. Balanced, fine and approachable.
