Méo-Camuzet Frère et Sœurs Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras

Great. Crushed cherries, herbs, enticing on the nose. Resolved palate structurally acidic but fruit in support and never feels lean. There is ample freshness throughout the palate, full through the middle and the finish is long and elegant. Berries, hibiscus.

So this wasn’t a bad wine, but more about Meo than Chambolle. Loads of black cherry fruit, cocoa/mocha. Tasty but no sense of Chambolle. B/B+

Somewhat one dimensional. A bit sour and thin. Not bad, but life is too short...

Still young. Opens up over an hour. earthy flavors balanced with nice fruit and savory finish.

Pure fruit, typical of Meo. Raspberry, pencil lead and some savoury saddle leather on the palate. This is not a farmyard style.

On the nose: Pine needles, raspbarry and some dust On the palate: Raspberry, dust, fine and quite significant acidity with some soil in the finish. Medium finish

PnP, straight out from my cellar, so cold when opened. Came along as it warmed up, showing lovely 2008 Chambolle profile. Clean raspberry fruit, with stone dust, minerals, lovely pine needles, spices and perfume. Clean fruit on the palate, minerals, wild strawberries, raspberries and some tart cranberries. Very fine acidity on the finish. Really good juice, still young, and should have needed a bit more time in the air tonight to really show itself. Looking forward to next bottle. (90 …

La Paulée Meets Chicago - Dinner (Blackbird - Chicago IL) : Small taste, brief note. A step up vs 2007 with good red cherry, spice hints, good balance. Chambolle textures. Drinking nicely now.

Obviously still very young, but opened up with a few hours in decanter. Focused red and dark fruit with a little undergrowth and soil showing, and just a hint of christmas spices (cinnamon?). High acidity and smooth but present tannins provide backbone. Sexy and with great potential. 90-92
