Further to TN from May 16, '21: A bit leaner than I remember. Still enjoyable but not for long keeping, I think.

Bought 6b for 16/b (after 4/b rebate) 2+ years ago from a local retail chain; this is #2. Medium gold; white stone fruits, some pineapple, restrained oak; white stone fruits, bit of oak, may become more Burgundian; good persistence. Very California treatment of the grape, full bodied, rich, buttery, good flavors, enjoyable for that when that is a good fit, but no room for a lot of nuance or complexity beyond that.

I tried. Again and again. I simply don't get the appeal. Seems like an expensive lab product. I can not concentrate on usual suspect descriptors for Cali chards as my mind wanders into 80's overpowering scents (Azzaro for Men anyone?). Just overdone, somewhat flabby. I'll stop here.

Loads of ripe pineapple and tropical fruits. A bit over oak on the finish, but overall a nice hot weather chard.

Definitely new world in style but not over done by any stretch. Nose of buttery lemon with a nice and clean palate of lemony custard.

I had the 2015 version of this last year and found it to be way over-oaked. This 2016 seems to have dialed the oak way back, and I found this to be actually quite good, with some rich oak accompanied by citrus. Enjoyed this.

Light golden hue, lovely baked apple and pear aromas, bright and grippy, with delicious flavors of red apple, honey, cinnamon and pear on the palate, nice mid weight feel in the mouth, excellent but will only improve as the elements integrate more, a good value

The 2016 doesn't stand up to the 2015 with its woody nose and flavors, slightly sour pineapple, and a hint of honey. I'll wait several months before cracking another.

A single vineyard chardonnay for them. Coming off of Big Ranch, which I guess is leased. But they did all the development. They wanted to make something a little brighter and hence the cool notes. Brighter in style, less oak and picked less ripe and fermented quite a bit cooler too. Still quite a bit of stirring to build up the mouthfeel.
