Wonderful. paired nicely with swedish meatballs in a cream sauce. Community drink dates suggest that this Roi is past its prime, but wow. Decanted for 1.5 hours and it tasted like royalty. Drink up.

Plum, earthy strawberry, rhubarb, and black cherry skin flavors fool you into believing they will come off too broad and rich, but the script is quickly flipped and the execution veers toward a more dilute and dry fashion. I've had two more bottles since my original tasting note in June, and both have been underwhelming. The lovely bright, juicy fruit has faded, leaving a somewhat flat and flabby wine. Could it be hitting the end of its drinking window that rapidly? Or is one (or more) of my bottles an aberration somehow?

Pale ruby color, light body, no tannins to speak of. Initial nose of plum and spice. Opened and softened dramatically after about an hour, with the flavors changing throughout. Initially crisp and tight, as it opens the earth and just a hint of ‘old world funk’ starts to show. Medium acid, good structure, moderate plus finish.
