Briar Rose Winery Petit Verdot Unfiltered

Very well made, elegant wine - predominantly black fruit aroma and flavors blend into a long, round finish

First time trying a wine from Briar Rose and this was outstanding. Given this as a gift from my Aunt and what a treat!

A late ripening grape, our Petit Verdot has great aromas. Jet black and dense with an enormous core of white pepper and spice, this 2004 Petit Verdot is a show stopper. Aromas of blackberry and truffle are found just below the surface. While massive in structure, the palate is filled with blackberries, clove and plum. The tannins are soft and round producing an incredibly long finish

The aroma of this wine is so intensely chocolate and coffee toned that it almost smells infused. It�s absolutely inviting with tons of black stone, honey, plum preserves, and rose petals. There is the faintest tinge of green herbs, vanilla cream, and concord jam, with delicate earth tones. The palate opens sweet, with a lush, velvety quality.
