Over delivered for the regular Brut. Marvelous. Hints of honeysuckle, grilled Pineapple and surprisingly strong effervescence.

Grassy colored (though glass looks much darker than in-bottle), generous effervescence, citrus nose. Crisp lemon yields to yellow apple. Super impressive, overachieving in an unheralded vintage.

Onklers Champagne mai 21 (Anders) : The wine smells of warm pastry, yeast, brioche, sweet lemon, and yellow apple. Taste of yellow fruit, sea, malt bonbons, and some berries. Long.

sophisticated and elegant, but definitely on the downhill. it sparkled for 15 minutes and quickly faded. vinous, but I love old champagne, so was a pleasure for me, but not for everyone I am sure.

Q3 - 2019 Tasting - Vintage Champagne - Pre-2000 (New York, NY) : 3/14 wines tased double blind. This same wine/vintage was in the tasting line up twice at spots 3 and 14 - I think this bottle may have been off. The nose on this was a bit off-putting to me, with a lactic goat cheese smell. On the palate, there were minimal bubbles and the wine was very oxidized and over the hill. I suspect poor storage. 0 …

Q3 Wine Club | Pre-2000 Vintage Champagne (The Apt) : Wine #3: The second of our doubled up wines and I do wonder if this one suffered a bit coming on the heels of the '98 Corbon that was just so open and fresh. This was almost the exact opposite. Much more oxidized. There were tangy notes to it. At times it reminded me a bit of chewing on a boating rope. I liked it, but it definitely required a …

Copper/gold in color. Lots of butterscotch on the nose with apple/cider notes. Rich, creamy mouthfeel. Nice minerality. Tasted against'03 Dom Perignon and this was preferred by many.

God fräsch, elegant känsla. Tydlig grapefruktsmak. Frun tyckte för mycket grapefruktskalsbeska.

(Disgorged in October 2016) Intense stream of fine bubbles and light yellow colour with a green hue. Lovely seducing notes of apples, citrus and fat nuts on the nose makes a promising start! A creamy mousse with a round palate and a lovely fresh acidic citrus finish. Probably at its best early around 2018-2025. But why wait, very nice right from start!

Fully mature, this still had good bubbles and energy. Milk with honey and spices on the nose, some oxidative features/wooden notes as well as citrus towards tangerine and very ripe yellow apples. Enjoyable, but saved by the liveliness of the bottle.

Extremely well-balanced and elegant. Exhibits prominent notes of citrus (unique lemon-lime flavor), toast, and is quite refreshing and captivating. After 21 years, it is still vibrant.

My first champagne from the 90's. Fresh at opening. In the mouth, raisins. One hour after opening, cooked apple and olive on the nose. Not ideally stored.

Good intensity, brioche, orange rind, olives. Med+ body, weighty yet nicely balanced with fresh, almost sharp acidity and lively perlage. Citrus, mineral, traces of peach, very long, solid. Lemon, yellow plum in the aftertaste. Nice!

Yeast and nuts on the nose. In the mouth there are yellow apples, nuts and corints. Mouthwatering acidity. Nice pairing with a pork roast.

Round and mellow on the nose with a good deal of honey, smoky wool, citrus, bisquits, almonds and toffee. Dry and electrifyingly refreshing palate with decent moussé. Rope apple and citrus notes, lime, chalk, brioche, toffee, mushroom and wide honeyed presence. Lengthy. Matured honeyed wine, but still very much alive.

Served blind. I got it down as a blanc de blanc but could not find the house so I was not surprised when it was revealed. I have not had many Deutz blanc de blancs in the past. First time I had this vintage as well I think. Not a great one. You expect more from any vintage champagne.

Blind Night (HB Home Bistro, Chicago IL) : nose: beautiful and balanced nose of roasted nuts, brioche, figs, bits of honey drops, and a touch of white fruits. Great depth and with a more nuanced approch taste: smooth and polished medium feel with good medium+ acidity that is nice and refreshing. Showing some of the age with tones of honey drops, brioche, roasted nuts, citrus', almonds and some bits of white fruits overall: A lovely champagne. This is in a …

Roy Hersh retrns to Colorado, Champagne, lots of Burgs & sweet stuff (la maisson de Mitch) : It is hard to follow a Sir Winny with a BdB (which i am sure influenced my score) but onward we forged. Deutz is on a roll and I have been having a hard time keeping my hands off the 02's BdB's, so it was a treat to drink a slightly older one. I kept thinking how young this bottle still showed. Lots …

nose: lovely and balanced nose that really melds together with deep tones of honey, roasted nuts, brioche, tart green apples, and some creamy mousse tones taste: great and polished feel. Excellent medium+ acidity with a silky feel and rich tones of creams, brioche, roasted nuts, bits of citrus' and some slight hints of green apples. Acidity is in perfect balance right now with the bubbles overall: this can certainly age further, but is in a great place right now. Some …

nose: very pungent nose of mousse, brioche, butterscotch, bits of oranges, roasted nuts, some citrus tones, and hints of smoke. Very balanced nose with good aged characteristics while also having a youthfulness to it taste: rich and balanced tones of brioche, butterscotch, oranges, roasted nuts, shaved almonds, citrus tones and various nutty tones with some bits of sour apples to round it all out. Great complexity and depth with excellent medium+ acidity overall: maturing flavors, but with a really good …

This was a treat. Pale bright yellow with a strong dense mousse. Aromas of butterscotch, aged citrus, and dough. Nice! Excellent persistant streamers. Wonderfully balanced with a defined citrus fruit core pushing green apple, stone fruit, tangerine, white spice, and toast. This is amazing with a long, long finish. Beautiful!

Begins with a lot of buttered biscut notes, but stays balanced with ample and nicely delineated apple fruit notes. Perhaps a touch full and sweet for oysters this could work better with appetizers and lighter fish courses.

Great American Syrah Smackdown (Chris Hughes' place - Chicago, IL) : Out of magnum and in a great place. Equal parts freshness and mature complexity on the palate. Nutty flavors and minerals are well integrated with vibrant white fruits. Great balance and medium-long length. Terrific start.

Golden color. Very complex nose with aromas of white flowers, peach and pear. On the palate it is a wine with high acidity with earthy notes and toasty yest. It pairs very well with well cooked fishes and crustaceous. Silky and long finish.
