It has been 2.5 years since I've revisited this wine. Am I crazy for saying that this one is still holding strong, maybe even more beauty than the last time I enjoyed it? Yeah, I'd say that's a rather accurate statement. This wine is beau.ti.ful. Medium bodied wine. Black cherry twizzler and cola perfumed nose. Some mint here. Just an absolutely gorgeous nose. The wine blossoms to a wildflower, honey, candied note in the middle and finish. Nice acidic character …

SOLID Tempranillo. Probably one of the best if not the best from this state being produced today. This wine has a perfumed nose of black cherry, herb, green pepper. The entry still has quite a bit of acidity as well as dirty black cherry, hint of navel orange, oregano, rosemary, and sweet plums. This carries to the middle along with some red pepper and cola. Finishes with less tannin than it had a couple of year ago when I last …

This, ladies and gentlemen, is Texas wine at its finest. I’ve been able to taste a fair amount of TX reds and this is the best I’ve come across. Randy Hester (of Lightning Wines in Napa) is the winemaker. He’s a Texan and has created his first TX label that is 100% TX Tempranillo. The depth and flavor in this is astounding for it being all Texan. Needs a healthy decant. Black peppercorns, rhubarb pie, licorice and gummy bear on …

First of the 3-pack of this wine. Out of about 10 wines enjoyed today, this one was one of the first ones gone. This is an interesting wine that has a lot of the earthy notes of Tx tempranillo that makes it so interesting, yet doesn't have the tart on the finish from overextraction and poor winemaking. This is a medium+ bodied wine. Hester knows what he's doing with this one, and it shows. This is a brambleberry nose, a …

A beautiful Texas Temp. Moderate garnet color. Big, robust nose of red fruit and earthy raspberry. Big mouthfeel and beautifuĺy smooth. Rich! Lots of acidity. Nice finish. Great first Texas vintage. Still young. Will improve.

VERY interested to try this wine as I just bought a 3-pack a little while back. This Randy Hester wine is doing GREAT things. 100% Texas Tempranillo sourced from Tx High Plains (Bingham and Farmhouse Vineyards both claim source). The sharp bite that seems to be present in a lot of Texas Temps. Not sure if it's the soil that adds this note or what, but I believe it is because it is not there in a lot of hill …

I am surprised that this is a Texas wine. I really enjoyed this wine. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like raspberry. It tastes like mushroom. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has high acidity.
