13% alcohol. Deep, concentrated lime-green color. Restrained yet rather sweet-toned nose with fine-tuned aromas of sweet golden apples, some honeydew melon, a little bit of quince, light mineral notes of wet stones and a candied hint of gummi bear. The wine is full-bodied, structured and balanced on the palate with flavors of golden apples, quince, some cantaloupe, a little bit of spicy herbal character and a mineral hint of wet stones. The mouthfeel seems somewhat concentrated by the age and …

Concentrated and pungent bouquet, grassy. Very good acid, mouth-puckering, pleasant finish.

Very characterful wine, with low acidty, ripe green melon, peach, and a undertone of stemmy complexity. The wine's definition is driven by the richness of the palate and a sense of minerality, more than acidity. Very good length.

A good bottle of this. Very clean and concentrated but slightly fat and blowsy. Green melon, high toned sweaty aroma, low acid and medium bodied.

Another excellent bottle - rich and enough verve to balance the low acid, melony nature of the wine. This has lots of concentration and length.

A forward and low-acid wine that can be hit or miss, depending on the bottle. Some examples feel over-the-hill, whilst others (such as this bottle) display adequate vibrancy to match the very ripe Verdicchio fruit. Melons. green herbs and minerality is the main message of this wine. It has very good presence and excellent length but is, perhaps, slightly cloying in the mid-palate. Still, a strong wine that can show well today. Don't tempt fate...

Flabby and tired. Far less impressive than the first bottle drunk and perhaps an indication of the special price that was being offered for this. Old and slightly sherry-ish on the nose. Fat and low-acid palate with a lot of presence but the aforementioned advanced characteristics echo and add up to a less than ideal experience.

Lanolin, green almonds, herbaceous and mineral. An easy drinker, with a soft texture and a beautiful and rich mid-palate that gives the impression of sweetness in this dry wine. Very long finish - almost surprisingly so. This is drinking rather well now and I wouldn't tempt fate. Tremendous buying at NZ$11.50.

I am a huge fan of Verdicchio in general and this was a very good example. Tropical fruit, wild fowers and grassy notes supported by strong minerality. Very bright acidity balanced with a little glycerine to bring the texture into balance. The finish lingered with pollen and green apple in escort. 7-17-7-8

Medium+ intense aromas of nuts, ripe appples, cinnamon, yeast, yellow raisins, peach, pears, vanilla, yoghurt and baking syrup. Medium(-) acidity, full bodied with a round, fat and oily texture. Medium intensity and a medium+, fairly warm finish. A very interesting wine, has a lot of oak aromas without ever being near an oak barrel. I guess a lot of the charactristics that I think of as oak really comes from the wine spending time on the lees and the malolactic …

Pale sand gold, seductive nose w apricot, lemon, lemon zest, granite, herbs and a light fresh smoke background. W some legs, suggesting good body. Palate slightly lighter than expected, which merges perfectly with pleasant fruits as nose suggested, smoke herbs n granite blends perfectly in the background. Short finish rolls off comfortably but discouraged by slight bitterness.

Grandi Marchi Italian Tasting (Sydney, Australia) : Pea and peach with some funk. Light mouthfeel, very soft in fact with the acid taking a back seat.
