This was a leftover 3/4 of a bottle I corvined a year ago. Opened for about 3 hours before consuming by the beach looking at the full moon. The wine has a nice string nose, body is medium, nice complexity, strong tannins, and too much oak at the moment. I sense a bit of American oak which I will try to confirmed. In any case I think this wine will be at its best by 2025+… 93++

My July 4th choice. It was between this and a Ridge Geyserville. Opened for 2 hours. Color is deep garnet/purple. On the nose: Cassis, graphite, plum, espresso and a bit of vanilla. On the palate: Cassis, baking spices, menthol, dark chocolate and plum. This is young and rich. Lot’s of potential to improve with age I think. We are having with our 4th of July Bison Burgers and Hot Dogs.

Really well balanced and crafted. Nothing jarring. Fruit forward, but not over-ripe. Clean, pure, direct new world Cabernet. Somewhat simple at this point; will likely build complexity with age. Tasted alongside the 2018 Estate Cab at the winery, this was night-and-day better at this early date.

Dark ruby. Complex and pronounced aromas of dusty trailside blackberry, rose, violet, chocolate, green pepper. Full bodied on the palate with palate-soaking fruit, vibrant acids on a base of strong aromatic smooth tannins. Long finish.

Fantastic Santa Cruz mountains cabernet, from the klein vineyard at the Monte Bello estate. Aromas- mocha/slight whiff of bell pepper/savory(meaty?)/floral Flavors- plush, velvety, blackberry, great acidity

Drank this as part of Ridge virtual tasting. Similar to the 2017 Klein, it’s more fruit forward and accessible now than the Estate bottling (although that is drinking fine also). Very enjoyable dark fruit flavors with spice & oak.

Coravin a quarter of a bottle into a 187ml bottle and put in the fridge from 3-6:30pm. Consumed during the Ridge Zoom tasting, 7:15-7:30pm EST. This is my second Ridge wine (stupid me) and 2018 red wine (a few weeks ago someone killed a Realm The Bard).
