Ah…Barranca. Their Sonoma blend has always been a delightful treat to look forward to annually. This Texas style version is made from grapes across Texas. This blend of 31% Mourvèdre, 30% Tempranillo, 24% Malbec, and 15% Sangiovese will pleasantly surprise your palate as you enjoy the sensations of different Texas vineyards in this beautiful bottle. Nothing short of a good hour of decanting will allow that floral bouquet to properly express itself. On the nose, you will discern hints of …

So the only way I ever really got to understand this bottle was to consume several spanned out over many months. FYI -- this wine is now a pop and pour, but really was much better after 30 minutes of air. I am quite impressed with this wine. Nice floral bouquet. Has blackberry and some tar on the nose. This wine seemed to drink a little more thin and uninspiring than the first, but I think that a few things are amiss here. 1. This bottle was served at room temp; 2. This bottle was served PNP. I think that both of these are a huge disservice to this wine, that needs to be served around 65 and after a fairly long decant to …

First Barranca made from Texas fruit, and I can definitely tell you that I was extremely nervous about opening the first bottle. This wine was extremely floral immediately from cork pop. The nose was black cherry and cinnamon spice with a hint of that Texas terroir. The entry of this wine is medium bodied, good acidity. Almost has a pomegranate kind of nose to it. The middle of this wine is supple, acidity is still there but it's still rather …
