This has received a lot of praise in the past. And I can see why. One mouthful of champagne. The aromas are densely packed into a juice of fine perlage. Both noble and very accessible, playful and serious. Definetely among the best champagnes I‘ve tested in the last few years.

Sunday Funday (Chicago, IL) : Love this champagne -- notes are still consistent with my previous experiences, but I've killed off three bottles of my six-pack, and the rest are going to storage for some aging. This has a strong pinot character, and a really lovely toasted bread thing going on. Nonetheless, there's enough cut and a nice hit of minerality to balance out those richer elements. Great stuff; I wonder why Deutz doesn't get the credit it deserves for …

Not quite as amazing as I remember but this is still a brilliant bottle of champagne. I picked up a slight bit of astringency here, but it doesn't poke through too much. There's a slight bit of yeast and some lovely stone fruit notes.

I just absolutely love this champagne. It's such great old-school rose, with its generous amount of dosage and slight bit of breadiness. Honestly, blind, I'm not sure I'd be confident I could nail this as rose at all, but there seem to be some subtle hints of red fruit here. The palate has that same rich quality about it, as well as great minerality and concentration. The fizz is a little coarse, which is almost the only thing I can …

Wines Tasted at HDH Auction (Spiaggia - Chicago IL) : Small glass, brief note. Very charming array of red berry and floral elements with some Chardonnay spine. Enticing aromas, even better flavors. A sweet hint on finish just adds even more intriguing notes. Both yummy and interesting.

HDH auction at Spiaggia; 5/17/2018-5/19/2018 (Chicago, IL) : Amazing nose. So dense and powerful on the nose. No signs that this is a rose, this features breadiness and some intense toastiness. Really yeasty and intense with brilliant cut. The palate is slightly sweet, but it is really well balanced and shows exactly what I like in a tete de cuvee. Just brilliant stuff.

Been a few weeks. Remember that I liked it a lot. Had to drink most of the bottle myself as everyone else claimed they had to drive. Being able to drink a bottle of champagne within 45 minutes by myself is usually a sign of top quality. This could be 95+
