Agree with other reviewers. I'm more of a vintage/ruby port drinker, but sip this the occasional evening. I like it but don't search it out. Buy if on sale.

Finally tasted this port, had it in my cellar for 5 years. This 20 year old port tasted fantastic. Wonderful on the pallet with a long lasting aftertaste. Tannins were there but not over powering. Would buy some more if I could.

Simple and had typical port taste. Not an interesting choice to me.

wery similar to my note of 5 years ago, except this bottle really suffered from not being opened a couple hours ahead. Smelled weird and was very hollow, so I put it in the fridge and opened something else. Next day it was fine, so I recommend opening 3-4 hours ahead at least.

Nose of dusty blueberry and dried blackberry, with some unripe peach skin, raisin, bramble, faint mint or menthol, prune, and currants. On the palate the flavor is chalky blueberry/blackberry, lacks some tension on the attack but nonetheless smooth, round and fruity without feeling thick. Swishing brings out some pleasant acidity and ticklish tannins that further add to the enjoyment. As the wine warms up, it becomes more red fruited. The Port finished with a quick blast of spice then a …

First taste. Rich in caramel, honey with nuttiness. Medium finish rich in fig. Slightly viscous. Will add more detail in further tastings.

Sammamish Port Club - February 2023 (Sammamish, Washington) : Bottled in 2008. Dark ruby in color. Aromas of wintergreen and some light apple and pear notes. Smooth entry of well-balanced red fruit, with tannins ramping up in the mid palate. Medium-long finish with bright acidity, and just touch of cloying sweetness right at the tail end of the finish.

very viscous in the glass and pretty ruby colour. nose of raisins, figs and caramel that continue in the mouth. fruity, fresh and sweet with just enough acidity to balance it all. enjoyable finish. a good match to a rich Chocolate-Hazelnut torte (with salted caramel and vanilla mascarpone).

Ruby chestnut Cherry anise flavors, slightly smoky. Sweet, but handles heat well

Deep dark ruby red in color. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, dried berries, figs & plums with spices, minerals, dark cocoa, some herbs & a hint of vanilla in the background. Full bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & dried fruits with spices, cocoa, pepper, herbs & minerals. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but will benefit from additional aging. A …

Very dark almost opaque still, great nose of dark fruits. Palate is more of the same fruits and some chokolate coming forth. Midpalate is a little bit hollow but the aftertaste is long and pleasant.

Perhaps a flawed bottle(?) but this greatly lacked in nose and complexity for a 14 year-old Port of this price range. I’ll go back to the ever reliable Taylor Fladgate I guess.

Dark red/garnet. Tight nose that shows a bit of sweetness and dark fruit with a bit of pepper and broth. A delicious dark cherry mouth and an incredibly dry tannic finish. Shows some good possibility for improvement over time. Made in a traditional way to benefit from a bit of cellar time.

I don't have a library of port to judge this by.. and initially I wasn't impressed, but port lasts and the second tasting much later was very good. Nuttyness came thru. I have to match this with a good Monte Cristo!

Friends and I had this at RN74 on 11/5/16. It had rich, fragrant bouquet of figs, raisins, molasses and caramel aromas. The palate was sweet, rich and powerful with flavors of figs, raisins, molasses, nuts and caramel.

The after taste is the highlight of this wine sip slowly and enjoy. Carmel nuts and figs. Honey comb cereal to the after taste. This is a great Porto.

Rather simple, but still nice, nevertheless. Nose with sweet raisins and ripe, sweet plums. Good balance and length, and okay for the price tag. Perhaps a bit too sweet for my palate and taste, but went really good with an assortment of aged cheeses tonight.

A little more on the nuts and caramel side of things. Perhaps a hair more liveliness would be helpful here, but overall I like the style.

Perfect with cloudberry and blue cheese! Everybody liked it even though it was a bit heavy on the alcohol... Good buy.

quite liked it - not super fantastic, but a heady mixture of nutty, caramelized fruit.

Nice, light after dinner drink. Nutty and toffee characteristics.

Wood and heat after all that vintage port. Hard to tell what is going on here after the vintages. Doesn't come across as exciting as the Neipoort, but I am not sure of my palate here.

Rich caramel toffee nose with plenty of figs and hints of orange peel. The rich sugary smell reminded me of creme brulee. On the palate I found it to be lighter bodied than I had anticipated, with lots of citrus peel and only hints of the caramel sweetness from the nose. The finish was also light but with decent length, leaving a nice figgy-caramel aftertaste. Because of its lighter body, I rated it only a B for style and quality, …

sfwine Port Tasting: Ruby, Tawny, Colheita, White, Vintage : Kind of a disconnect between the nose and palate here, as the aromas are oxidative, yet in the mouth this is pure primary, sweet fruit. Sugary and simple, this needs more acid and structure. With time an overripe, estery aroma develops that i'm not fond of.

Very enjoyable, not as 'nutty' as other Tawny's, with the fruit more pronounced - An excellent treat! (91 Points)

Very light in color, rather weak in flavor. Very smooth. Flavor is rather non-descript, and overall taste is average. There are less expensive ports that we prefer, but we're glad we tried this.

Poured at a retailer tasting. Light brown color with notes of caramel and wood. Slightly sweet, with a nice long nutty, caramel finish.
