Love this wine. I would go back in time to Costco and buy all that they had. This was a gem. I decanted 4 hours ago and now the first pour had a fabulously meaty nose with loads of crushed rocks, forests, soups of flowers with density of complexity. There were olives in there, brine, tart of lime. Palate was rich and delicious like liquid bloody flowers. Great balance of acid to floral. This needed steak. With my natural ribeye, …

Last btl of this. Effusive nose. Round, grapey, and unctuous. Modica chocolate. A little bit of greenery on the finish. Slightly drying. Drink up. Like essentially all Galician reds this punches way above its weight.

Chuck's bottle. Good bottle age with excellent upside potential yet to go. Garnet red with warm tones of dark cherry fruit and earth in all the best ways. Apparently this was pretty inexpensive--incredible QPR. Makes one ask, why don't we drink more of these?

Quality does not need be expensive, and this bottle proves it. Big kudos goes to Costco RWC CA, as they brought this in a few years ago, I bought several bottles and drank most but decided to cellar some, so here is a taste of one brought out and rested upright for 5 months. After 30 hour decant, as initial was closed. Nose of amazing floral bouquet with wet dark trail underfoot in a forest of old bay trees. Lots …

Vermilion color with no noticeable bricking Very nicee nose of red cherry and maybe cedar and pomegranate. Red cherry/maraschino cherry on palate with bright acidity. Finish is medium long with significant tannins remaining

Beautiful nose of sweet black berries, red currants, cedar, coffee bean and spice box. Medium-bodied, this is tart and a bit clipped. The nose is so beautiful, but the palate is just so-so and vegetal. 88

Bright, crunchy, red fruited, mild tannins, and pretty enjoyable.

Great at PNP, but faded within 2 hours. Just a raisiny mess on day 2. Bricking around the edges, all the signs of a wine that has aged out. Drink up or regret it.

Like most mencia wines, this goes down way too easily. Bright round crunchy fruit, crisp acidity, mushrooms. This is nothing to meditate on, but a solid Monday night quaffer.

Enjoyable with our homemade tapas feast as an opener, before we moved on to some deeply aged Riojas ...

Love trying wines from hard to find Spanish regions. Medium-body, a bit lighter take on Mencia than others in my cellar. Bright acidity, almost a sweet tart bite (in a good way). Great with Cilantro Chicken.

Not a lot to add to my previous note. Rich red fruit on the nose, yet medium bodied. Still fresh despite its age. Only slight drawback is palette is a little sharp - acidic and some tannins. But for the price that is really nick-picking. A really nice house red for everyday drinking from an up an coming region and grape.

Inky with medium legs. Nose of blackberry, fig, plum, coffee, oak, clove and tea. There's a hint of green pepper on the palate along with the dark fruit, raspberry. Long finish. Intriguing and moody wine.

One of the better Mencia I have had. 7 years in and still nicely fresh on the nose, with some warm spice and more to sit along side. Medium ruby to garnet color, medium on the nose of raspberry red cherry, eucalyptus and then the spices: pepper and secondary touch of clove. Even a hint of tertiary caramel perhaps. Medium- body, medium tannin and acidity. Medium alc and dry. Tannins are still a little raspy but overall this is a …
