Pleasant Hill Cellars Pinot Noir

Well this is quite over the hill, with faded fruit, hints of old spices and cola. Still an interesting drink and worth the close-out price.

Very burgundian profile, with somewhat thin fruit, good acidity and some tough tannins that gradually softened with air. Nice balance with a bit of spice and earth tones. Not sure if age will help given the level of fruit seemed a bit weak. This really did make me think of burgundy, both the good and the bad, the search for the magic of pinot.

Great balance and fresh fruit profile of raspberry and strawberry. Just a fun wine. Excellent with cheeses. Nice long finish and solid backbone with ample acidity.
