Brown Estate Zinfandel Rosemary's Block

43rd Annual Zinfandel Retrospective - the 2016s (R&D’s) : Blind. Red color with a slightly lighter meniscus. Aromas of black fruit, prune, spices, pepper and dried herbs. A bit more simple on the palate than the bouquet suggests. The fruit is a touch on the ripe side, hinting at prune. Black raspberry and pepper in the finish. Nicely aged. Notes of strawberry jam and cherry. Very smooth on the finish. A bit sweet but very enjoyable.

Big, fruity full of flavor.

Purple in color. 15.2% ABV. Awesome nose of brambly red and black fruits, anise and pepper. Medium to full bodied with perfect acidity. Black cherry, black raspberry liqueur, cocoa and pepper on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Absolutely delicious Zinfandel that goes down way to easy. Best over the next 2-3 years.

Still young with raspberry jam that isn't too sweet on its own but can come across that way when paired with lighter dishes. This wine is at its best with lighter BBQ'd foods that have a little sweet molasses flavor of their own. It also does better with a slight chill around 60f as this is the most delicate of Brown Estate's red wines. The nose is all raspberry with no noticeable alcohol.
