Trediberri, Barolo, Rocche dell'Annunziata

Just a brief note without a score because I tasted this towards the end of the night at La Festa del Barolo - from a magnum brought by the producer. But this was impressive enough to be worth noting. Really vibrant and fresh dark red fruit and floral tones with a beautiful sweetness, but not at all overbearing. An elegant, mid-weight wine on the palate with good richness of fruit but balanced. Fantastic wine. Elegant, feminine and long. Tasted against Ratti’s same wine and Trediberri normale. As I have seen the winemaker at Trediberri is the former winemaker at Ratti. Ratti’s Rocche was a 2016 and was maybe in a semi closed phase. It was also less clear in taste compared to other similar 2016 I’ve tasted. Trediberri Rocche was the best wine. Trediberri Barolo Rocche Dell’Annunziata 2015. Den dufter helt fantastisk. Elegant og luftig med stor intensitet - 100% open for business. Den imponerer også på smak. Svært elegant og leken. Superb frukt og en balansert friskhet. Drikker faktisk meget bra nå, men vil holde lenge. Ingen skarpe kanter. Lett intensitet, men ingenting å utsette på konsentrasjonen. Lang og presis finish med meget flotte tanniner. Strammer seg opp og viser at vi har Nebbiolo i glasset. Digger denne. 93-94p

Trediberri Barolo Rocche Dell’Annunziata 2015. Blomstrer med litt luft. Hyperelegant på duft med blomster, spice, kirsebær og mandelmasse. Wow dette er sexy stuff! Silkemyk i anslaget med strålende løft i frukten. Tar et par sekunder før man kjenner at dette er Nebbiolo - strammer seg opp og viser at den ikke er en ren fløtepus. En nydelig friskhet som jeg ikke altfor ofte møter på i 2015. Ungt, men dette er helt suverent å nyte nå. Ingen dupp i kurven. …

2015 Barolo Seminar- Festa dal barolo Red fruited nebbiolo nose, with violet more than rose perfume. This is an elegant, lifted perfumed barolo with great tension and lift. There is a sense of hidden depth and power with a weightlessness (for Nebbiolo) on the palate that I love. More of the same fruits, with balsamic notes coming in on the back end. A subtle wine that is really impressive.

Here I found a remarkably pretty display of bright red fruits, dusty sweet spice, cedar and lifting florals. On the palate, silky, pliant textures were contrasted by brisk acids, ushering in ripe red fruits and round tannins, with resonating inner florals punctuating the feminine display. The finish was long, with concentrated tart red berries staining and drying the senses, while fine wood tannins saturated; yet throughout the entire experience, the Trediberri somehow remained fresh and lifted. A lovely nose of purple flowers, ripe cherry, lipstick and cedar. It is rich and full, wit intense and luscious fruits. There's some tar and earth and plenty of florals. It is powerful and dense yet perfumed and sensual. Length is impressive.

Fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. 11 days of maceration over fermentation + another 7 days of post-fermentative maceration. Aged for 23 months in 5200-liter Slavonian oak botti casks. 14% alcohol. Somewhat dark, translucent and still quite youthful raspberry red color. The nose feels ripe and sunny with dark-toned aromas of gravelly earth, licorice root, some black cherries, a little bit of plummy fruit, light brambly notes of boysenberries, a hint of tar and a touch of tobacco.
