Equis Saint-Joseph

Me réconcilie avec St-Joseph et ses vins parfois trop masculin.. Très belle Syrah ici, juste ce qu'il faut de fruits foncés, de poivre blanc et de cuir. Demeure d'une certaine robustesse, mais aucune chaleur ici. Évolue sur l'olive verte (les grosses, pas les petites! Haha!) Le tout est bien fondu et accompagne à merveille la tajine d'agneau de mon ami Bruno.

(Tasted Blind): Deep, black to ruby colour. A little reductive at first, the aromas move to blackberries, iodine, crayons, roasted meat, bay leaf and rather oddly, soap. The palate opens with a lovely, subtle, fleshy fruit, lively acidity and chalky texture. There is a macerated blackberry and Morello cherry preserve core with a medicinal, savoury overlay that gives a pongy, barnyard quality. Complex, the wine has finely integrated tannins, leading to a precise and well-defined finish.
