Strehn Der Elefant im Porzellanladen

A wine of real contrasts. An oaked rose that was both electric with a bright citrus, zesty edge, alongside a confected cherry and berry fruit side (although not sweet), backed up by and subtly creamy texture. Misha and Alex BBQ, Finsbury Park.

Very provence like, with much more depth and mineralogic. Creamy, maybe a bit too much on the sweet spot for us (depending on the pairing). Definitely not just an "everbodys darling" - this is a full blown top Rosé !

Das ist er, der Rosé, der noch einmal eine Stufe über den anderen Exemplaren der Strehns steht. Im Glas ein kräftiges Kupfer, das schon einmal fasziniert. In der Nase Pfirsich, ein Hauch Vanille. Im Mund dann sehr cremig, erfrischend, mineralisch, langer Nachhall. Das schmeckt tatsächlich schon stark nach Provence. Ich mag den Strehn-Style. Für mich einer der besten, wenn nicht DER beste Rosé aus Österreich.
