Dark crimson in color, this wine (62% Cabernet Sauvignon/31% Merlot/7% Cabernet Franc) revealed muted notes of red currant, tobacco, cedar, blackberry and espresso on the nose. The mouth feel was fuller bodied and brought added notes of mocha. The finish was surprisingly open but the mid-palate brought an overt hollowness. 13% abv. Purchased for $23US, this wine has nice aromatics but the mid-palate is askew with this particular bottle. I don't see it improving with time. Imported by Regal Wine …
