Collemattoni, Rosso di Montalcino

Pleasant enough rosso di Montalcino. Light to medium bodied with a bright translucent garnet color. Nose is lightly floral but very reticent. Palte is low in tannin and fairly bright with acidity but not terribly complex or deeply textured. Finish is a bit short. Nice but not very memorable.

2 coravin pours with dinner. This is a really wonderfully fresh and vibrant wine. Medium bodied and translucent ruby in color. Nose has licorice, red flowers, bright cherry and some savory undertones. Palate is balanced and clean with flavors reflecting the nose. Nice acidity and modest tannin. Very tasty with chicken in a spicy yogurt sauce. Best with a little air but on the downside it did thin out after several hours with a little left in my glass.

Very fragrant nose of pretty florals and clean red fruits. Light weight and very delicious, with a moderate tannic backbone. I had it over three days, and felt it kept improving.

Vin rouge avec un beau fruité et une pointe d'épices. Un peu chaleureux mais typique. J'aime bien.90 sur 100.

very nice, fruity perfume nose, bright red fruits on the palate, light bodied but full of flavour and some oiliness to the texture which polishes the finish. needs a bit of air time to come together.

One of the best under $30 that I have had. This is light Rosso with beautiful flowery and fruity notes. Tannins stayed with you a little afterward. Lovely wine for the price...thanks to Cana Wine Company.

Rosso satisfaisant sur ce millésime (il faut éviter 2014 en rosso). Des notes de cerises, un peu de "grip" . Rien n'accroche et le fruit est très pur. J'aime. 90 sur 100.

Muchg better than previous bottles - This was from .750 and the others from splits. The normal format made a big difference.

Very nice Rosso - Huge funk on the nose; it has a dirtiness to it. Dusty soil, baked red fruits, leather and mushroom. Also smells of wet bark but not in a corked way.It also has a cocoa-mix or powdered hot chocolate component as well. Good finish, nice minerality, unmistakably Italian.

Very terroir-driven nose, with hints of berries and plenty of funk. The wine is light in the mouth with somewhat muted red fruits and plenty of acid and tannins, although it's not unbalanced. The finish is rather short. Enjoyable.

nice fleshy rosso. earthy and rustic on the nose. mid weight. touch of oak. recommended.
