Golden yellow color, strong honey, vanille and butter aromas, hints of kardemom, peach, caramilized citrus peel. Personally, I’d like to see a bit more primary fruit.

Average chardonnay, very drinkable but nothing to make it stand out from the crowd.

Medium brassy straw. Honey dew melon, lemon curd, a touch of oaky funk. Medium-full body, pretty sharp acidity. Citrus peel, lemon, burnt vanilla, tangerine.

Anders.

Sat, 4/28/18, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA) : IF the '15 is any indication, I'm guessing this was also 100% barrel fermented with all barrels undergoing malolactic. N: Butter atop figs? P: Med body; RNDISH entry with ALMOST swtish oak/frt off-set by acidity. The fairly LONG, balanced finish ult ends with notes of earth {poss grain?) with very, VERY occasion notes of bitterness that I'd expect to increase with time. For NOW [as in yesterday], though POSS …

I really loved this wine tonight. So many wines in this "summery wine" theme night were crisp and tinny, and then..... along comes the Bernardus with its ever present oak and all of a sudden this mid range Chard felt like gold. That said, it is just that, a well produced mid-range chardonnay which delivers a fair amount of butter, with almond and a melon finish which is medium length. Great QPR at under $ 20

A private tasting and dinner at a friend's (Amsterdam, NL) : Tasting, brief note. Consistent with my previous notes, tropical fruit, not too oaky this time.

Out of vintage, oak dominates the palate with little or no remaining fruit.

Consistent with my previous note. The oak sticks out a bit however, and I am marking it down by one point. Solid but lacks finesse. At motel De Biltsche Hoek, De Bilt, NL.

Very similar to the 2012 tasted last year. A solid Californian Chardonnay, with appropriate weight (14% ABV) and ditto ripe fruit (melon, peach, strawberry), spun sugar, very slighty resinous oak, fleshy and juicy, with low acidity but carried by considerable bitters, flavoursome and with good length. Slightly pedestrian, but mouthfilling and full-bodied. Good length.

First time having this. Really nice. Popped and poured. Enjoying on the patio on a nice evening - no food. Color - standard pale yellow. Green apple and caramel nose. Nice balanced taste. Smooth and goes down easy. Medium long finish with a little citrus at the end. Good QPR. C - 3 A - 12 T - 15 O - 7
