Appearance: Deep ruby. Nose: Medium intensity; aromas of ripe black cherry, plum, and light oak, but with a slightly jammy character and hints of green pepper. Palate: Dry, medium body, medium acidity, and slightly coarse tannins. Flavours of stewed black fruits and spice, but lacking freshness and complexity. Finish: Short to medium length, with a somewhat drying aftertaste. Conclusion: Drinkable but unbalanced. Fruit feels overripe and oak influence dominates, masking elegance. Not a style I personally enjoy.
