Fruit forward, full bodied and well balanced. Dark cerise color. Blackberry, blueberry, white pepper and tobacco on the palate. Integrated tannins but plenty of backbone still. Medium finish with a hint of pepper.

Deep indigo color. Black and blue fruit on the palate. Full bodied with integrated tannins. This was missing the power and spice of a typical Howell Mountain wine. I found this almost one dimensional without much in the way of secondary layers. Certainly, nothing was really wrong with this. There just wasn't much complexity or layering. Served with a dinner of filet mignon, brown and white rice and haricots vert.

Tasted at the winery. 97% cabernet, 2% merlot, 1% petit verdot. Medium ruby color and clear. Aromatic with strawberries, fig, asphalt, oak and vanilla. Dry with a medium to light body. Crisp acidity. Medium tannins. Fair balance. Plush flavors of plum, apple skin, red cherries and slight green pepper. Long finish. Very good.

Decanted and drank over 2 hours. Dark purple/black in the glass, medium weight, dark fruit, but not the typical Howell Mountain brambly fruit I'm accustomed to. Seems to be missing something mid palate at this point, most certainly a young wine that could develop into something better.

Med. tannins which I believe you can lay this down for the next 10 years. I would not say it is 100% drinkable today, but in late 2018 to 19....absolutely. The wine looks purple colored. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like walnut, cinnamon and cherry. It tastes like cranberry, pomegranate and sandalwood. The body is medium/full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Young - much better on day #3 as it became more expressive and tannins smoothed out/integrated. Actually closed down and somewhat bitter with air the first day.

The wine looks inky colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like plum, mineral, espresso, coffee, vanilla and clove. This wine you can lay down for another 10 years easily. Tannins are there. most '14s are ready, and have a drink window of now to 5 years. Spicy, peppery, clove like, cherry tart at the end. The body is medium/full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium …
