Remoissenet Pere et Fils Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Serpentières

Light red, bright and clear. Earthy, light red cherry fruit. Floral. Very elegant. Delicious slightly ripe Pinot Noir flavours. Very nice finish. Our group spent some time on this one which is unusual. Really nice.

Bought this for the hell of it to see if the cheaper Burgs at Wegman's were worth a look, and it was a pleasant surprise. At $25 it out-performed many Oregon/Cali Pinots I've had in the same price range. Bright cherry and spice flavors with a hint of barnyard on the nose. Balanced, good finish. Not the most complex or interesting wine, but good value at $25.

Savigny Les Beaunes : Beautiful, complex nose with loads of barnyard. Medium bodied with good fruit and a long finish. Lovely aged Burgundy!
