Heidsieck & Co. Monopole Champagne Gold Top Brut

A big fan of this wine and it's remarkablly consistent from year to year. Yeasty nose with plenty of red and white apple fruit.

Apples on the nose, toffee and some yeast. Quite thin on the palate with lemony fruit and some sweetness. A little spice, coffee and yeasty notes. Tastes like it’s drying out a bit but there’s none of the richness you’d expect in a wine this mature. . Not expensive at around £25 a bottle .

Lovely bread yeast on the nose. Clear and lovely little bubbles. The body is light/medium with a smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity that went well with brie and fig jam appetizers.
